A: Most AI models were originally engineered for adults, primarily enterprise users. Developers did not design them with children in mind. However, AI now permeates classrooms and households alike. In many education systems, students begin learning AI concepts as early as the third grade. Meanwhile, the future workforce will operate in an AI-driven economy. Therefore, the imperative is clear: we must equip children with AI literacy while protecting them from harm. Safeguarding young users is not optional; it is foundational.
WrdsAI addresses this gap directly. It is purpose-built for children. When a child submits a prompt, the system evaluates it through age-specific safeguards. If a user requests guidance on self-harm, cheating, violence, or evading consequences, the platform does not comply. In that case, it responds constructively, encouraging the child to speak with parents, guardians, or trusted friends. Therefore, the platform must continuously distinguish between harmful intent and a legitimate request for support. WrdsAI performs this evaluation automatically and instantaneously.
Once the user submits a prompt, the system delivers a response within seconds. If the request violates policy, it halts processing at the gateway itself. We have priced the platform at ₹99 per month. At this rate, a student can submit up to 400 questions monthly. For learners up to the 10th standard, this allocation is more than sufficient for regular academic use.
Importantly, we have made a deliberate pricing decision. We could charge ₹1,000 per month. However, that price point would create friction for parents and restrict adoption. When parents perceive a service as expensive, hesitation follows, and access declines.
Therefore, we prioritize affordability over margin expansion. By setting the price at ₹99, we remove economic barriers and promote inclusive access. In doing so, we align our commercial strategy with our educational mission.
Q: Which international standards or frameworks do you follow to ensure age-appropriate access to your AI system?
A: We adhere strictly to the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) of 1998 and to established child protection regulations. We do not reinterpret these frameworks, nor do we invent new policies. Instead, we implement the standards that already exist.
In practice, this means we align our systems, data handling, and platform safeguards with the legal and regulatory guidelines governing children’s digital privacy. We treat these frameworks as non-negotiable guardrails.
Accordingly, if COPPA restricts a particular action, feature, or data practice, we do not permit it. We apply the law as written and enforce it within our architecture. Our role is not to redefine policy but to operationalize it rigorously and responsibly.
Q: What major innovations or product advancements are you planning over the next 5–10 years?
A: We are expanding into voice-to-voice interaction to make engagement more natural and intuitive for children. At the same time, we are strengthening multilingual capabilities. India is home to more than twenty major languages. Therefore, accessibility must reflect linguistic diversity.
If a child asks a question in Tamil, the platform should respond in Tamil. Moreover, it should also provide the option to view the response in Hindi and English. This approach reinforces comprehension, supports cross-language learning, and eliminates linguistic barriers. We refuse to confine learning to a single language channel.
Equally important, accessibility must transcend geography. Whether a child lives in a Tier 1 city, a Tier 2 or Tier 3 town, or a rural community, the platform must remain affordable and available. The vision of “AI for All” becomes meaningful only when cost does not exclude participation. Affordability, therefore, is not a pricing tactic; it is an inclusion strategy.
We have already moved from concept to execution—from zero to one. However, substantial work remains. The roadmap is long, and we intend to advance it with sustained innovation and disciplined expansion.
Q: Do you have plans to expand your product into international markets?
A: We built WrdsAI in India, with global standards and global ambition. It is designed in India, for India, and for the world. However, we do not segment access by geography, income bracket, or nationality. A child in a Tier 1 city deserves the same opportunity as a child in a rural village. Likewise, an Indian student and an international student should engage the same safe, structured AI environment. Access must remain equitable.
At the same time, safety must remain uncompromising. Every interaction operates within clearly defined guardrails. Consequently, parents can trust that their children are learning productively, not straying into content that exceeds developmental appropriateness.
