In an exclusive conversation with The Interview World at the Samarth India Conclave and Expo 2025, hosted by Times Network and Hyundai, Falguni Shrivastava, Co-founder of Cognitii, explains the platform’s foundational principles, discusses enrollment trends, highlights what differentiates Cognitii from similar solutions, and reflects on her experience in the Women Entrepreneurs 4 Good program in Paris.

Q: Could you elaborate on your platform, Cognitii?

A: Cognitii is an AI-driven, human-powered platform designed for institutions that support children with special needs, including ADHD, autism, and dyslexia. We partner with schools, organizations, and governments to integrate directly into public education systems, making high-quality special education both accessible and affordable for the 30 million children who need it across India.

Q: What is the working principle behind this platform?

A: Our product operates through a streamlined three-step process. First, we conduct an assessment that functions as a screening proxy, enabling our AI to build a detailed cognitive profile for each child. Next, we move into adaptive delivery: children engage with gamified modules on the app that strengthen academic, literacy, social, communication, and functional skills, areas where many neurodivergent learners often need targeted support.

Finally, we measure outcomes through robust dashboards. Educators and government stakeholders use these dashboards to track progress, plan lessons more effectively, and automate the entire special education pipeline. At the system level, governments can access disability data that helps them shape smarter policies and allocate resources and budgets more efficiently. This is how the entire ecosystem works—precise, adaptive, and purposefully designed to drive meaningful impact.

Q: How many students are currently enrolled on your platform, and what impact has it had so far?

A: We are currently live across five schools and supporting 243 students across India. In addition, more than 20 institutions are in our deployment pipeline for the next three months. Early results are promising: children are actively engaging with the games, enjoying the experience, and absorbing meaningful learning as they play.

At the same time, we are solving a long-standing challenge for educators. Special education requires an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for every child, a process that traditionally takes six to eight months to complete. With our platform, educators can now create these plans in just two weeks, a 90% reduction in planning time. This dramatic improvement frees teachers to spend more one-on-one time with each child, where it matters most.

Our focus remains clear: we serve children with neurodevelopmental and intellectual disabilities, as well as those with learning disorders, ensuring they receive the tailored support they deserve.

Q: How is your platform different from others in the market?

A: Many players operate in this space nationally and globally, but most follow a consumer-focused, B2C model. The challenge with consumer platforms is twofold: they cannot scale meaningfully, and they rely on parents to opt in, an especially difficult task when many parents remain in denial about their child’s needs.

This is precisely why we chose an institutional pathway. By working directly with schools and systems, we can create impact at scale with far greater credibility and consistency. Our goal is clear: to reach the 30 million children in India who genuinely need specialized support.

To advance this mission, we are actively collaborating with the governments of Kerala, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. These partnerships give us the scale to reach the grassroots, working directly with children and educators in districts and communities where support is most urgently needed.

Q: Could you elaborate on your experience in the Women Entrepreneurs 4 Good program in Paris, where Cognitii received the Jury Prize?

A: We participated in the Women Entrepreneurs 4 Good program, an initiative led by HEC Paris, Bank of America, and the Women Entrepreneurs 4 Good Forum. Over seven months, we completed an intensive online accelerator designed to support high-impact, women-led ventures. Out of 440 global applications, we were selected among the top 10 and invited to pitch in Paris, France, at the Global Women’s Forum.

From those finalists, we were awarded the Jury Prize last week, an honour that marked a significant milestone for our team. The entire experience was both inspiring and transformative.

Q: Were all the startups participating focused on ADHD, autism, and dyslexia?

A: No, the cohort included a diverse group of startups. All were women-led ventures spanning various social-impact sectors, ranging from feminine hygiene and water conservation to ecological innovations and several other purpose-driven initiatives.
