In an exclusive conversation with The Interview World at DIDAC India 2025, Jasvinder Singh, CEO of Words Worth, detailed how his company’s solutions stand out from competitors. He highlighted the tangible impact of their programs, explained how AI makes language learning more engaging and accessible, and shared his vision for the next decade of transformative education.
Here are the key takeaways from his compelling insights.
Q: Could you elaborate on the language solutions Words Worth provides for the education sector, and explain how these offerings stand apart from other providers?
A: Words Worth is a proud homegrown, “Make in India” product. For the past 22 years, we have served around 2 million students, spanning schools, colleges, universities, and even government institutions. In fact, we collaborate with eight state governments to implement large-scale capacity-building programs.
What sets us apart is our deep understanding of Indian learners. In India, English is not a foreign language; it is a second language. While many may not speak it fluently, they are exposed to it daily through listening. This creates a unique learning curve that differs significantly from learners in other countries—and we have mastered the approach required to meet it.
We align our programs with international standards, such as the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), but we adapt them to the Indian context. Rather than relying on direct translation, we teach students to think in English. We focus on diction, sentence formation, and natural expression, so language flows effortlessly without the constant burden of grammar rules.
We began with English and have since expanded to Sanskrit, French, German, and Spanish. Our philosophy is simple: the more languages a student learns, the sharper their thinking becomes. This is the core of our mission: to empower learners not just to speak languages, but to think and express themselves confidently across cultures.
Q: What impact has Words Worth made on the ground, and how are the intended users directly benefiting from your solutions?
A: As I mentioned, we partner with 3,000 private schools and colleges and 7,000 government institutions across India. Through these collaborations, we reach around 2 million students every year, and that number continues to grow.
Our programs are not short-term initiatives; they require sustained effort and consistent engagement. Over the years, we have impacted nearly 10 million students across India, and our work continues unabated.
Language, however, is a lifelong journey. It is a process that extends beyond formal instruction. Language acquisition differs from traditional language learning: you must use it continuously to truly master it. That is precisely what we focus on: creating opportunities for learners to actively practice, internalize, and express language naturally.
Q: How do you plan to leverage AI to innovate your product, making it both more engaging and more accessible to everyone?
A: Democratizing education means making it accessible to everyone at an affordable cost, and that is exactly what we do. Words Worth is among the most cost-effective language learning solutions in India, successfully competing with foreign products that have struggled to penetrate our market.
We leverage AI extensively to enhance learning. Our platform uses speech recognition and a linguistic insight engine to pinpoint exactly where a learner struggles with grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, intonation, or fluency. This level of personalized feedback is impossible for a teacher to provide to every student individually, given time constraints.
AI, however, accompanies the learner 24/7, offering continuous guidance. Students can access the platform not just in schools or colleges, but anytime, anywhere, even at home. By combining technology with pedagogy, we make life easier for teachers and create a more effective, engaging, and personalized learning experience for students.
Q: Looking ahead, what is your big-picture vision for the evolution of language learning in the next ten years?
A: Our focus has always been on languages. We began with English and gradually expanded to Hindi, Sanskrit, French, German, and Spanish. Now, we are introducing Japanese and Russian to our offerings.
Our vision is clear: as India evolves from a global service hub to a manufacturing powerhouse, our people must be able to communicate effectively across the world. Language skills empower Indians to work seamlessly in any international environment, and that is exactly what we aim to achieve.
We are committed to democratizing language learning, making it affordable, accessible, and inclusive. Language should not remain the privilege of the elite; it belongs to everyone. By breaking these barriers, we ensure that every learner, regardless of background, has the opportunity to engage confidently on the global stage.
