In an exclusive conversation with The Interview World, Dr. Daxini discusses the evolution and success of GoSkin+ve. She explains the unmet needs in Indian skincare that prompted her move beyond conventional clinical practice and examines how the venture has translated that insight into customer preference, repeat business, stronger margins, and sustained growth. She also reflects on how empathy and artistic observation can transform a traditionally device- and procedure-driven specialty, creating tangible commercial and operational impact. Finally, she outlines her three- to five-year vision for Think Skin Clinic and GoSkin+ve, including the scale, market position, growth engines, capabilities, partnerships, and capital required to achieve it.

Here are the key takeaways from her compelling conversation.

Q: What key indicators demonstrate GoSkin+ve’s success so far, including patients served, practitioner training, product adoption, referrals, and business growth, with specific figures, periods, and milestones?

A: I started GoSkin+ve as a solo entrepreneur in 2021, driven by a simple conviction: meaningful products must emerge from real clinical needs. Today, seeing it evolve into a brand incubated by Centurion University, Odisha, makes the journey deeply meaningful. It represents a progression from patient care to knowledge-sharing, research, and ultimately, creating something of my own that can positively impact many more lives.

For me, success has always been measured by trust. Over 11 years at Think Skin Clinic, Bengaluru, I have personally cared for nearly 35,000 patients, with approximately 45% continuing their care with us. Across more than two decades in clinical practice, I have treated over a lakh patients. Each encounter has strengthened my understanding of what patients truly need.

Equally fulfilling has been the opportunity to share that knowledge. I have travelled across India, training nearly 200 dermatologists in aesthetic procedures, including Botox, dermal fillers, and threads. Many continue to reach out for guidance, and supporting them in delivering better outcomes remains deeply rewarding.

My clinical research with Indian cosmeceutical companies further deepened my understanding of actives, delivery systems, and formulations for Indian skin. That experience ultimately inspired GoSkin+ve: a brand built at the intersection of clinical insight, research, and real-world patient needs.

Q: What unmet Indian skin need inspired your shift from clinical practice to GoSkin+ve, and how has it created measurable customer preference, repeat business, margins, or growth?

A: The turning point came after years of treating thousands of patients. I began to notice a consistent pattern: many of the most valuable skincare solutions emerged from the questions I encountered every day in my clinic. Why did the same formulation work for one patient but not another? Could different actives be combined more intelligently? Could we make products more effective, better tolerated, and more relevant to the skin concerns I routinely see in Indian patients?

Those questions drew me deeper into formulation science. Through clinical research with Indian cosmeceutical companies, I studied active ingredients, combinations, concentrations, delivery systems, and formulation strategies in greater depth. This experience helped me move beyond simply prescribing an ingredient to understanding what makes a formulation clinically meaningful and consistently effective.

GoSkin+ve emerged from this intersection of clinical experience and scientific curiosity. I wanted to develop products with a clear clinical purpose, formulations shaped by real patient needs rather than by skincare trends.

The philosophy remains simple: every product must address a genuine clinical need. Today, GoSkin+ve reaches people through my clinic and digital channels. Moreover, this digital presence has created a natural extension of my practice. Many people who discover the brand online subsequently seek personalised dermatology advice, enabling me to build an online consultation model alongside it.

For me, GoSkin+ve is not separate from my practice. It is an extension of the questions, knowledge, research, and experience that emerge from treating skin every day.

Q: How have empathy and artistic observation transformed a device- and procedure-driven field, creating measurable commercial or operational impact and an enterprise inflection point?

A: One of the biggest inflection points in my practice came when I realised that mastering a procedure was not enough. True expertise lies in knowing when to intervene, why to intervene, and, equally importantly, how much is enough.

As an amateur mixed-media artist, I have developed a strong aesthetic eye through my work with abstract representations of faces. It has sharpened my sensitivity to proportion, balance, negative space, and the subtle details that give a face its individual character. I bring the same sensibility to aesthetic medicine. To me, beauty is not about making every face conform to a template; it is about preserving what makes each person uniquely expressive.

I recall a patient who sought multiple injectable treatments because she felt her face looked tired and aged. Yet, after understanding what she truly wanted, I realised she did not want a different face. She simply wanted to look fresher while still looking like herself. So, instead of pursuing multiple procedures, we chose a more conservative approach. The subtle result nevertheless made a profound difference to her confidence.

That experience reinforced a principle that continues to guide me: empathy and aesthetic judgement must lead technology, never the other way around.

This philosophy now defines Think Skin Clinic. We prioritise personalised treatment planning, restraint, and natural outcomes over procedure volume. Approximately 65% of our aesthetic patients return for further treatments, a meaningful measure of trust. They return not merely for a procedure, but for the confidence that our guidance will help them understand what is right for them.

Q: Over the next three to five years, what scale and market position do you envision for Think Skin Clinic/GoSkin+ve, and which growth engines, capabilities, partnerships, and capital will unlock it?

A: Over the next three to five years, I aim to transform Think Skin Clinic and GoSkin+ve into a broader, digitally enabled healthcare and wellness ecosystem: one that combines clinical expertise, personalised care, evidence-based products, prevention, and healthy ageing.

For Think Skin Clinic, the immediate priority is to scale beyond a single-location practice. I envision a larger facility with a stronger multidisciplinary model spanning dermatology, aesthetics, preventive care, and healthy ageing. To achieve this, I plan to collaborate with nutritionists, fitness professionals, psychologists, and trusted laboratory partners. Together, we can address health more comprehensively rather than treating individual concerns in isolation.

In parallel, I want to build GoSkin+ve into a larger digital-first brand offering a broader portfolio of evidence-based skincare solutions. The ambition is to expand beyond Bengaluru and, over time, enter complementary categories such as hair care and nutraceuticals. Digital consultations can create a critical bridge between products and personalised medical care, enabling us to serve customers wherever they are.

Ultimately, I see a significant opportunity at the intersection of skincare, digital healthcare, prevention, and healthy ageing. My goal is to build a scalable brand that extends beyond my personal clinical capacity while remaining firmly grounded in medical expertise and evidence.

To realise this vision, I will need strategic capital for infrastructure, technology, product development, digital expansion, and a strong multidisciplinary team. Ultimately, I aim to build a nationally relevant, and eventually international, healthcare and wellness brand.
