Specifically, we collected skin swabs and applied the Shannon diversity index to quantify bacterial richness with precision. This rigorous, data-driven approach enabled us to establish a clear link between dietary intervention and measurable biological change. Consequently, we demonstrated how almond consumption can directly and significantly modulate complex systems such as the skin and gut microbiome.

Q: What were the major findings related to skin health and appearance?

A: Almond consumption markedly increased skin microbiota diversity, with bacterial richness rising nearly threefold. Clinically, this shift translated into tangible outcomes: participants experienced fewer acne lesions, along with clear reductions in their size and volume. Consequently, 67.6% of participants reported a measurable improvement in quality of life.

However, current research has not evaluated intakes beyond 60 grams per day. Therefore, while 60 grams has demonstrated a strong safety profile, evidence remains insufficient to support higher consumption levels.
