The company executes every stage of product development in-house, from schematic engineering and system design to fabrication and manufacturing. As a result, Sunlux delivers fully integrated automation solutions with complete control over quality, performance, and reliability.
Moreover, the company’s solutions comply with stringent Safety Integrity Level (SIL) standards and undergo independent validation by globally recognized assessors such as Bureau Veritas. This end-to-end engineering capability distinctly differentiates Sunlux in the market, particularly in delivering comprehensive automation solutions for Platform Screen Doors (PSDs).
Q: Have these automation solutions already been deployed across metro rail systems in India?
A: We recently secured the required certifications and have now initiated discussions with Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation for potential retrofit deployments. At this stage, we are prioritizing retrofit projects to establish initial implementation experience, demonstrate operational reliability, and validate the effectiveness of our solutions in live metro environments. Furthermore, these early deployments will help us strengthen our execution capabilities and build a strong foundation for larger-scale adoption in the future.
Q: How do you assess the market potential for automation solutions across India’s metro rail ecosystem, and what growth opportunities do you foresee in the coming years?
A: I see a substantial market opportunity in this segment. Across India’s eight major metropolitan cities alone, the demand is projected to exceed 27,000 units, translating into a market potential of nearly ₹8,000 crore. Moreover, as metro rail networks continue to expand and modernize, this demand is expected to grow significantly in the coming years.
Q: What is your vision for Sunlux Technovations over the next 5–10 years, and what new technologies, solutions, or innovations do you plan to introduce?
A: Sunlux Technovations views this segment as a significant growth opportunity and aims to participate both independently and through strategic international partnerships. The company intends to deliver highly economical and technologically robust solutions for domestic as well as global markets. At the same time, Sunlux seeks to build long-term support capabilities, particularly for Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs), thereby ensuring sustained operational reliability and customer confidence.
Furthermore, the company’s cost-efficient and service-oriented approach offers a strong advantage to decision-makers. By minimizing dependency on extensive spare-part inventories, Sunlux enables operators to reduce maintenance overheads and optimize lifecycle costs. Q: Do you have plans to expand into international markets through the export of your products and solutions?
A: Yes, we have already established a clear export strategy and initiated discussions with Dubai Metro as part of our international expansion plans. We already maintain a working relationship with Dubai Metro through our HVAC system solutions, which provides us with a strong operational foundation and strategic entry point for introducing our broader automation technologies. Accordingly, we intend to leverage this existing engagement to expand our presence in global metro rail infrastructure projects.
