Patanjali Renewable Energy Pvt. Ltd. (PRE) stands where purpose meets progress — proving that clean energy can also be a powerful enterprise. Guided by the visionary leadership of Swami Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna, PRE advances India’s mission of self-reliance by designing and manufacturing renewable energy solutions that do more than function — they make a difference.

From its state-of-the-art base in Greater Noida, PRE — an MNRE-approved manufacturer — delivers a precision-engineered portfolio that fuels possibility: solar PV panels, smart streetlights, solar pumps, inverters, and advanced lithium-ion battery systems. Together, these innovations form the backbone of India’s clean energy future.

At the Renewable Energy India Expo 2025, Yadu Nath, Director of Patanjali Renewable Energy Pvt. Ltd., shared exclusive insights with The Interview World. In a candid discussion, he detailed Patanjali’s strategic entry into the renewable sector, outlined the total renewable energy capacity under development, and revealed the number of villages targeted for electrification. He also highlighted the distinct consumer benefits that set Patanjali apart from competitors and underscored the scale of human capital driving this mission.

Here are the key takeaways from his inspiring conversation.

Q: Could you elaborate on Patanjali’s foray into renewable energy?

A: We launched Patanjali’s renewable energy initiative with a clear and unwavering mission — to light up every village in India. Our vision goes beyond infrastructure; we aim to bring reliable electricity to every home and every lane, empowering communities across the nation.

Our journey began in 2017, driven by purpose and optimism. The COVID-19 pandemic temporarily paused our progress, yet it only strengthened our resolve. Emerging from that challenge, we reignited operations with renewed energy and full momentum.

Today, we operate robust facilities in Greater Noida (Delhi-NCR) and Haridwar, Uttarakhand, advancing our vision of sustainable power for all.

Q: What is the total renewable energy capacity Patanjali plans to develop, and how many villages are targeted for coverage under this project?

A: Our near-term strategic vision is bold and focused — to achieve 7 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity by 2027. This target reflects not just expansion, but our commitment to shaping India’s clean energy future.

While we haven’t fixed the exact number of villages yet, our mission is clear: to reach and empower as many as possible. Every installation brings us closer to a self-reliant India, where renewable energy drives growth, bridges power gaps, and transforms lives across the nation.

Q: How do consumers stand to benefit from Patanjali’s solar energy solutions compared to those offered by other companies?

A: At the heart of our renewable energy mission lies the philosophy of national self-reliance — Swadeshi. Every initiative we undertake stems from this conviction. We aim to manufacture entirely within India, strengthening the ‘Make in India’ movement and generating substantial employment opportunities for the nation’s youth.

At the same time, we differentiate ourselves through a clear promise — to deliver high-quality, affordable renewable energy solutions. This balance of excellence and accessibility defines our approach and embodies the true spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Q: Could you share how many people are currently involved in this project?

A: We currently employ around 80 skilled professionals in our manufacturing facility, supported by an additional 200 to 300 ground personnel who drive operations on the field. Together, they form the backbone of our renewable energy mission, ensuring precision, performance, and progress at every level.
