Presented below are the key insights from this engaging conversation.

Q: Could you explain TruBoard Cleantech’s AI-powered asset management and procurement solutions, the key business challenges they address, and what differentiates them from competing platforms in the market?

A: Globally, asset management has traditionally operated in silos, with organizations often limiting it to commercial or finance functions. We have taken a fundamentally different approach. Our platform integrates the six core functions that drive effective asset management, site operations, performance management, procurement, commercial, compliance, and finance, into a single, connected ecosystem. When these functions work together rather than in isolation, organizations achieve significantly better operational and financial outcomes.

Our AI-powered platform delivers value at three levels. First, it digitizes and streamlines end-to-end workflows by seamlessly connecting every department. As information flows effortlessly across the organization, field personnel need nothing more than a mobile application to execute and report activities on site. This eliminates information gaps, improves collaboration, and accelerates decision-making.

Second, once operational data is digitized, artificial intelligence begins to unlock its full potential. Our AI engine continuously analyzes asset data, benchmarks it against industry best practices, and identifies meaningful correlations. At the same time, our domain experts develop and validate sophisticated algorithms that continually refine these insights. The AI then learns from this expanding knowledge base and generates actionable recommendations. For example, we have successfully developed a failure prediction prototype capable of identifying equipment that is likely to fail within the next 48 hours, seven days, or even 14 days. More importantly, the platform recommends the preventive actions required to avoid those failures and tracks whether the maintenance team has completed them.

Third, the platform extends beyond predictive intelligence by integrating the entire procurement workflow. If maintenance activities require spare parts or other resources, the procurement process is automatically triggered and monitored. As a result, organizations can respond to operational risks instantly while steadily progressing from reactive maintenance to predictive and, ultimately, prescriptive asset management.

Beyond software, we are also advancing automation through robotics. We are developing autonomous maintenance robots capable of performing routine tasks such as grass cutting at renewable energy sites. Our objective is not to replace people but to protect them. Many routine maintenance activities expose field personnel to avoidable safety risks, particularly in high-voltage DC field environments. By assigning these hazardous tasks to robots, we can significantly improve workplace safety while allowing human operators to focus on supervision, decision-making, and higher-value responsibilities.

Q: Is your software currently marketed only in India, or have you expanded to international markets? If so, which regions are your key focus?

A: Our addressable market is truly global because every organization investing in renewable energy requires intelligent software to manage its assets efficiently. Consequently, our solutions have broad relevance across geographies and market segments. To date, we have deployed our platform across renewable energy assets totaling nearly 4–5 GW in India. In addition, we have secured orders from the Middle East and Africa, while actively expanding our footprint in the United States and Europe. These markets represent the next phase of our global growth strategy.

More importantly, we want the industry worldwide to recognize that a smarter and more efficient approach to asset management already exists. Through platforms such as The Interview World, we hope to spread that message to a broader audience. Our solution enables field teams to work more safely, collaborate more effectively, and move beyond manual processes driven by spreadsheets and document files. Instead of juggling multiple tools, they can manage their daily operations through a single mobile application. The result is a simpler workflow, faster execution, higher productivity, and a significantly better user experience.

Q: Could you share insights on how your software improves operational efficiency, enhances effectiveness, and delivers measurable cost optimization for customers?

A: One of the most compelling examples of our platform’s capabilities involved an inverter for which our AI assistant, TIYA (TruBoard Intelligent Yield Augmentation Assistant), accurately predicted an internal communication card failure seven days before it was likely to occur. Rather than merely issuing an alert, TIYA provided a comprehensive action plan to help the operations team prevent the failure.

First, the AI identified the maintenance tasks required to address the issue. It then searched the site’s inventory to verify whether the necessary replacement component was available. Based on that assessment, the platform automatically generated a detailed workflow outlining the corrective actions and assigned responsibilities across the relevant teams.

At the same time, the procurement team received an early notification that a replacement communication card might be required. This advance warning gave them sufficient time to source the component at the most competitive price instead of making an emergency purchase. Simultaneously, the site operations team prepared its maintenance schedule to resolve the issue before it could affect plant performance, while the performance management team closely monitored the inverter’s operating parameters for any abnormal trends.

As a result, three critical departments, procurement, site operations, and performance management, began working in parallel from day one. Their coordinated response enabled the team to intervene before the predicted failure occurred. During the inspection, they confirmed that the communication card had developed a programming fault, precisely as the AI had anticipated. By replacing the faulty component proactively, they prevented an outage in a 3–4 MW inverter and avoided an estimated generation loss of approximately 10,000 to 20,000 units of electricity.

This case demonstrates how AI-driven predictive maintenance can transform asset management by enabling organizations to detect failures early, coordinate cross-functional responses, minimize operational disruptions, and maximize energy generation.

Q: What new innovations and capabilities are you planning to add to your existing platform, and how will they enhance customer value?

A: Our next major focus is intelligent electricity price prediction. As the renewable energy market rapidly shifts toward commercial and industrial (C&I) consumers and open-access models, power producers need far greater visibility into market dynamics. We are therefore developing an advanced price prediction engine that will enable asset owners to determine the optimal time to either sell electricity to the grid or store it for future use.

Complementing this capability is a sophisticated battery optimization algorithm. The system continuously analyzes projected electricity prices, market demand, and storage conditions to recommend whether energy should be stored or dispatched. More importantly, it identifies the most profitable time to release stored energy into the market. Together, these capabilities will help renewable energy producers maximize revenue while improving operational efficiency.

At the same time, the rapid expansion of renewable energy is placing increasing pressure on power grids worldwide. As renewable penetration grows, maintaining grid stability becomes significantly more challenging. Consequently, accurate forecasting and intelligent dispatch are no longer optional—they are becoming operational necessities. This trend extends beyond India. Markets such as the United States already impose penalties for inaccurate generation forecasts and dispatch deviations, underscoring the growing importance of predictive intelligence.

To address this challenge, we have developed a proprietary forecasting engine capable of predicting renewable power generation with 95–97% accuracy, even under challenging weather conditions such as fog. Building on this strong forecasting foundation, we believe the industry’s next critical requirement is intelligent price forecasting combined with advanced energy storage optimization. Our platform is designed to deliver both, empowering generators with data-driven insights into when to store energy, when to dispatch it, and how to maximize the commercial value of every unit generated.

Ultimately, our vision extends far beyond individual software applications. We aim to build the world’s first comprehensive operating system for the renewable energy ecosystem, an intelligent digital platform that seamlessly connects generators, buyers, and energy markets. By enabling both sellers and purchasers to make informed, data-driven decisions, the platform will optimize energy trading, improve market efficiency, and unlock greater value across the entire renewable energy value chain.
