Thwarting Portending Threats

BigBlare Innovations leads the hardware and tools services industry, setting new benchmarks with cutting-edge AI solutions. The company has consistently delivered transformative results through a visionary approach, driving clients toward unprecedented success. Their recent AI-powered camera network for analyzing threats in public gatherings stands as a groundbreaking advancement in maintaining law and order.

In an exclusive interaction with The Interview World, Shashwat Pandey, Co-founder and CTO of BigBlare Innovations, discusses the AI-based camera network innovations his startup is developing to prevent human threats. He also sheds light on the underlying technologies and shares insights on product commercialization and the prospects. Here are the key takeaways from the interview.

Q: Can you provide more details on the specific innovations your team is developing to prevent threats?

A: Our goal is to enhance and improve existing camera networks. The current approach is largely passive. Video streams consume massive storage space without real-time analysis. A team typically monitors these feeds for suspicious threats or triggering events. This is labor-intensive and prone to error.

We are shifting this model by developing a device equipped with proprietary software built in-house. This software processes incoming video streams in real time, analyzing the footage to detect suspicious activities within specific scenes or scenarios. When such events are identified, the system automatically sends an alert to both Android and iOS applications.

This approach significantly reduces the manual effort previously required for monitoring, eliminating the inefficiencies and limitations of human oversight. Human monitoring, especially for large networks of 200 or more cameras, is not only error-prone but also difficult to scale. In contrast, our AI-driven system can continuously and reliably manage this task.

Initially, we have focused on solving intrusion detection and alerting issues. The next phase of our development will target action recognition, categorizing behaviors into high-risk and low-risk actions. For instance, if a fight breaks out, our system will immediately alert local authorities, enabling them to intervene and restore order swiftly.

Q: Could you explain the core technology that powers these products?

A: We drive significant innovations in AI, neural networks, and machine vision. Advanced image and video processing techniques sit at the core of our technology. After capturing video, we leverage deep neural networks within AI to analyze and interpret the data. These neural networks are trained to recognize a wide range of events, including high- and low-profile actions, physical altercations, action detection, as well as person and facial recognition. This is the fundamental technology powering our solutions.

Q: How does your technology distinguish between different types of inanimate threats, such as bombs, and trigger appropriate alerts?

A: The challenge in such scenarios is that bombs lack a consistent structure; they can vary in shape, size, or form. This unpredictability can sometimes deceive even human judgment. Our system, however, is designed specifically to detect humans and assess threats posed by them. It identifies suspicious behavior, such as individuals displaying signs of stress, repeatedly moving or circling a specific area, which the system classifies as potential threats.

Q: Has your product been commercialized yet, or is it still in the development phase?

A: We are currently in the pilot testing phase at ITS Engineering College in Greater Noida, where we are incubated. This location provides an ideal environment for extensive testing on the college premises. Our focus is to gather valuable insights that will enable us to enhance the product and achieve better results.

Q: Who is your target audience or customer base for this product?

A: Owners of large spaces, including commercial properties and warehouses, frequently face significant risks related to intrusions, threats, and theft. Consequently, they represent our primary customer base.

Q: Do you have plans to offer this product to law enforcement or other public safety agencies?

A: We will reach out to them once we have resolved all critical product issues. Selling to law enforcement and other regulatory agencies presents unique challenges, as they expect flawless performance. Therefore, we must refine our products to meet their high standards before proceeding with sales.
