Q: Could you elaborate on the robotic solutions that Technavia offers and explain how these solutions differentiate the company from its competitors?

A: During the initial phase of technological development, India relied heavily on foreign companies for advanced automation solutions. In robotic applications particularly, the industry depended predominantly on German and Japanese manufacturers for technology, expertise, and system integration. However, the landscape has changed significantly over the years.

Today, India is emerging as a fast-growing nation with rapidly expanding technological capabilities, and companies like Technavia are contributing actively to this transformation. Established in 2017, the company has steadily progressed toward building indigenous automation capabilities that align with the evolving requirements of Indian industry. As the company approaches a decade of operations in January 2027, it takes immense pride in developing world-class automation solutions within the country, for the country.

Most importantly, technologies and automation systems that once required complete dependence on foreign suppliers can now be designed, developed, and delivered domestically. This shift not only strengthens India’s manufacturing ecosystem but also reinforces the nation’s growing self-reliance in advanced industrial automation.

Q: Are these robotic solutions designed for specific industries, or are they industry-agnostic and adaptable across multiple sectors?

A: We do not limit our focus to any single industry because the painting applications we deliver have relevance across multiple industrial sectors. Since painting automation serves a wide range of manufacturing environments, our solutions remain largely industry-agnostic. However, robotic automation has gained the strongest traction in the automotive sector, where manufacturers increasingly prioritize precision, efficiency, consistency, and high-volume production capabilities.

As a result, nearly 80 percent of our business currently comes from the automobile industry. Moreover, the sector continues to expand rapidly in India, driven by rising manufacturing demand, technological modernization, and the growing adoption of advanced automation systems. This growth trajectory creates significant opportunities for companies like Technavia to scale their automation capabilities and strengthen their market presence further.

Q: Do you manufacture these robotic solutions indigenously, or do you rely on imported components and technologies?

A: India’s industrial automation sector still depends significantly on imported components, particularly for high-end robotic systems. Robots constitute the core element of our automation solutions, and critical components such as robotic arms, applicators, and several advanced electronic systems continue to come primarily from international manufacturers.

However, the ecosystem is evolving rapidly. Today, a growing number of electronic and electrical components are being manufactured within India itself. Although many of these facilities belong to foreign companies, they have established strong manufacturing bases in the country and now supply these products locally. This shift has improved supply-chain accessibility and strengthened domestic manufacturing capabilities.

More importantly, companies like Technavia have substantially reduced the industry’s dependence on foreign solution providers over the last five to six years. While certain hardware components may still be imported, system integration, engineering expertise, automation design, and after-sales support are increasingly being developed and delivered domestically. Consequently, India is steadily building a more self-reliant and sustainable automation ecosystem that supports the nation’s industrial growth ambitions.

Q: What new technologies, products, or innovations is the company planning to develop over the next five years?

A: In the field of robotic automation, artificial intelligence has emerged as a transformative force, and the industry is rapidly embracing its potential. Recognizing this shift, Technavia is actively focusing on the development of AI-driven software and intelligent automation capabilities that can redefine the future of industrial automation in India.
