The company designs and delivers smart systems that make cities not merely functional, but brilliantly intuitive. Whether it’s parking guidance, surveillance, toll automation, or home intelligence, Scita transforms urban living into a seamless experience of connection and control.
Driven by relentless R&D, Scita doesn’t chase global standards; it defines them. Each solution is engineered with precision, fuelled by passion, and guided by a clear purpose: to simplify the complexity of modern cities through elegant, intelligent technology. With a rapidly expanding global footprint and a commanding presence at international platforms like Intertraffic Americas, Scita propels India’s vision for smarter, safer, and more sustainable cities.
Its portfolio, spanning AI-powered sensors, ANPR systems, automation platforms, and advanced security solutions, embodies one powerful conviction: the future of urban life must be seamless, secure, and spectacularly smart.
In an exclusive conversation with The Interview World at TrafficInfraTech Expo 2025, Joseph Kulandai Raj, Senior Pre-Sales Engineer at Scita Solutions, delves into the company’s traffic management innovations, reveals upcoming advancements, spotlights emerging market opportunities, and envisions Scita’s accelerating growth in scale and revenue. The following are the key insights from his compelling discussion.
Q: Could you elaborate on the traffic management solutions offered by Scita Solutions and the key challenges these solutions aim to address?
A: Right now, Scita Solutions delivers a comprehensive suite of intelligent mobility and infrastructure systems, spanning toll management, highway automation, smart city integration, and advanced surveillance and parking solutions.
In tolling and highway operations, the company deploys an ecosystem of cameras, radars, and analytics-driven systems. Its Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) integrates components such as VADS, VAST, TMCS, VMS, ECBs, and MRCS, creating a unified command over urban and intercity traffic. Recently, Scita implemented a landmark Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) across Bengaluru, installing smart infrastructure at 25 strategic locations to monitor and manage real-time traffic flow.
Beyond city limits, Scita extended this framework from Ramnagar to Tulsera, setting up 20 additional sites equipped to detect and record violations, ranging from missing helmets and seatbelts to triple riding and wrong-way driving. Powered by AI-based video analytics, the system ensures accuracy and integrity in violation detection. Once validated, data automatically flows into the e-Challan process, generating and dispatching penalties to offenders with minimal human intervention.
Scita’s AI-driven traffic solutions are already live at over 168 key junctions across Bengaluru, bringing automation and accountability to the city’s roads. What sets Scita apart is its 100% Made-in-India hardware, including proprietary speed radars, high-precision cameras, and sensors, designed and manufactured domestically for superior reliability and customization.
All these systems connect through centralized software platforms featuring real-time dashboards, analytics, and control tools that empower authorities with actionable insights. Looking ahead, Scita continues to scale its innovations with new traffic modernization projects across Bengaluru and beyond, strengthening its position at the forefront of India’s smart mobility revolution.
Q: What new innovations is Scita Solutions planning to build upon its existing technologies, and what advancements can we expect over the next five to ten years?
A: Next, we plan to develop an advanced MLF toll system. At present, our tolls operate manually; however, during a recent conference with the Transport Department, we were informed that by 2029, all tolls must be fully automated. In response, we have already begun working on automation initiatives and are simultaneously developing software solutions for NHAI. These projects represent the key upcoming developments from our side.
Q: Do you mainly deploy your solutions within India, or have you expanded to international markets as well?
A: No, it is entirely made in India. In fact, many installations already exist across North India. The entire system is conceived, built, and manufactured within the country. We are now expanding our footprint, while our operations currently focus on India, we are actively exploring opportunities to take our solutions to global markets.
Q: How do you view the market opportunities for your solutions, and what differentiates Scita from its competitors in this space?
A: From a cost perspective, we deliver exceptional value for money. Our Made-in-India products give us a distinct advantage: they are both high-quality and affordable. While many competitors import their solutions from abroad, we have built ours entirely in-house. By developing our technology indigenously and pricing it for the Indian market, we offer solutions that are not only more economical but often superior in performance and reliability.
Q: Where do you see Scita’s growth coming from in terms of revenue and market expansion over the next five years?
A: We have already established a strong presence across most regions of North India and in Bengaluru. Now, we are strategically expanding our reach to cover the entire southern market. This regional growth marks a key milestone in our broader expansion plan.
