RoboFun Lab stands as a bold, future-focused STEM education powerhouse that is redefining how young minds across India learn, build, and imagine robotics. Since its founding in 2016, the organization has fused curiosity, creativity, and cutting-edge technology into a learning experience that feels less like formal instruction and more like play, yet unmistakably like the future taking shape.

With vibrant labs operating in Mumbai, Surat, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, and Vadodara, RoboFun Lab delivers deeply immersive programs in robotics, coding, electronics, and AI for K–12 learners. Its globally aligned curriculum, driven by rigorously trained coaches, does more than impart technical skills; it cultivates problem-solvers, makers, and confident young innovators.

As a result, students don’t simply participate, they excel. They have earned more than 100 national and over 20 international robotics honours. Even during the pandemic, the lab responded with remarkable agility, shifting online and extending its reach across borders.

From its headquarters in Surat, RoboFun Lab is not just preparing children for tomorrow; it is empowering them to build the future of robotics.

In an exclusive conversation with The Interview World at DIDAC India 2025, Ashwin Shah, Co-founder and CEO of RoboFun Lab Pvt. Ltd., expands on the organization’s robotics learning solutions. He discusses the number of schools and students enrolled, highlights the program’s measurable impact, evaluates emerging market opportunities in India, and outlines his vision for the next 5–10 years, from new program development to strategic market expansion.

Here are the key takeaways from his compelling discussion.

Q: Could you elaborate on the robotics learning solutions developed by RoboFun Lab?

A: We have developed comprehensive learning solutions for schools, not as a product company but as a pure service provider. We execute the full curriculum, supply the necessary kits, identify students who show strong interest and aptitude, and ultimately prepare them for major robotics competitions.

At RoboFun Lab, our core strength lies in a rigorously structured curriculum, highly trained trainers who deliver the program with precision, and a dedicated backend team that ensures continuous follow-up. For the past ten years, leading legacy schools have trusted us because of the consistency, dedication, and thoroughness we bring to every aspect of our robotics, AI, and coding programs for K–12 learners.

Q: How many schools and students in India are currently enrolled in your programs?

A: Each year, we teach a modest yet meaningful cohort of 10,000 students. We deliberately prioritize the quality of education over sheer volume, ensuring that every learner receives a rich and impactful experience.

Currently, we work with 18 schools, and we aim to double this number in the coming years. However, we seek partnerships only with institutions that recognize the real value robotics brings to a child’s learning journey. We want to collaborate with schools that take the program seriously and are willing to invest the same level of time, energy, and commitment that we devote to making it a success.

Q: What impact have your robotics learning programs had on the ground so far?

A: As I mentioned, we identify highly motivated students and train them systematically for robotics competitions. Just as students prepare for exams like JEE or NEET, we guide them through the landscape of major robotics competitions and coach them with a comprehensive, competition-ready approach.

Over the past ten years, we have trained numerous teams, many of which have gone on to win national championships. Several have progressed even further, securing international titles and representing India on the global stage.

We also hold the distinction of being the first institute in India to win a gold medal at one of the world’s most prestigious robotics competitions, an achievement that brought immense pride to the country. Since that milestone, we have only accelerated forward, with no looking back.

Q: How do you assess the market opportunities for these types of programs in the Indian context?

A: India presents a vast and rapidly expanding market opportunity. Every school will soon require robotics and AI as integral components of its curriculum. As a result, the space offers ample room for growth, and enough opportunity for everyone committed to delivering quality.

Q: What is your vision for RoboFun Lab over the next 5–10 years in terms of new program development and market expansion?

A: At RoboFun Lab, we have always believed in keeping pace with the times. We continuously update our curriculum to reflect students’ evolving needs and the rapid advances in technology. With AI reshaping the landscape, predicting the next ten years is difficult; however, our commitment remains unwavering. We will continue to make timely, relevant upgrades to ensure that everything we deliver meets the highest standards. Our goal is simple: to help students at RoboFun Lab learn the latest technologies in a fun, hands-on, and deeply meaningful way, empowering them to shape their future careers with confidence.
