He shares insights on the number of schools, teachers, and students onboarded to the platform, outlines the company’s global expansion strategy, and articulates his long-term vision for innovation and business growth.

Q: Can you unpack the ways Mafatlal Technologies is rewriting the rules of education, especially with its bold use of AI?

A: For 120 years, Mafatlal has driven initiatives that contribute meaningfully to nation-building. Today, as AI becomes the latest buzzword in education and many rush to implement it in fragmented ways, we take a different path. We focus on regulated, purposeful AI, AI that actively supports teachers during and beyond the classroom, rather than distracting from their role.

We design a structured AI intervention that helps students learn more adaptively. The system curates and filters diverse resources, then delivers them to each learner based on their capability, interests, and engagement patterns. This regulated approach ensures that every student follows a clear, logical learning path that leads to stronger outcomes.

This is the core purpose behind our AI-enabled learning platform. At the same time, we ensure that teachers remain the central force in the learning ecosystem. Every teacher has a unique style, and that individuality must not only be preserved but elevated. I still remember my math teacher because of the distinctive way he taught—and that uniqueness is exactly what technology should protect.

So, our platform keeps the teacher’s methodology intact. It empowers educators to create their own content using their own voice, their own approach, and even their own digital avatar. With just four simple steps, teachers can build AI-powered content that reflects their personality and pedagogy. In doing so, we democratize learning, making it more accessible, more personalized, and more authentically driven by those who teach.

Ultimately, the idea is simple yet powerful: to democratize learning for every teacher and every learner.

Q: How many teachers and students have joined and are actively engaging with your platform so far?

A: Across both government and private sectors, we have already trained nearly 18,000 teachers. More than 3,000 of them actively contribute to our ecosystem by creating content that we then scale for broader use. In total, over 300,000 teachers are now part of this ecosystem, and more than 18,000 use our platform directly. We have also implemented our solutions in over 20,000 schools.

The model is not only sustainable—it is continuously evolving. As AI advances and new tools emerge almost every month, we adapt and integrate these innovations to keep the ecosystem dynamic, relevant, and future-ready.

Q: Given your strong presence across India, are there plans to take the product to global markets?

A: India is an enormous market, and our first priority is clear: we must take this innovation to the last mile. That objective drives our entire strategy. The impact that technology delivers in Delhi, Mumbai, and other major metros should be equally powerful in rural communities.

Therefore, we are working to scale this initiative across the country in a widespread, inclusive manner. At the same time, we have begun engaging with select regions beyond India as we explore opportunities for broader global outreach.

We will continue to move forward with this vision and adapt as new possibilities emerge.

Q: Over the next 5–10 years, how do you see Mafatlal Technologies evolving in both its innovation roadmap and overall business growth trajectory?

A: For 120 years, innovation has remained inseparable from our identity. Whether in textiles, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, or now in technology, we have consistently used innovation as the engine that drives every new chapter.

Looking ahead, I often tell my management team that within the next five years, people should recognize Mafatlal not only as a textile company but as a diversified enterprise with a far broader footprint. Expanding beyond our traditional domain will remain a continuous priority. Yet through every transition and every new sector we enter, innovation will stay at the core of our DNA.
