Kled IoT Sensing Pvt. Ltd., headquartered in Mumbai, is a sharp, future-driven instrumentation company redefining India’s sensing and process-control landscape. Since its founding in 2013, the company has carved a distinct niche by fusing deep engineering discipline with modern IoT intelligence.

What began with a flagship online moisture meter has steadily expanded into a comprehensive suite of connected sensing solutions. Today, Kled delivers everything from water-level and pressure measurement to air-quality, occupancy, and industrial environmental monitoring. Its “KLED Measurement” portfolio integrates precision-engineered hardware with cloud-ready, field-tough designs, ensuring dependable performance in demanding environments.

Although lean in size, Kled operates with bold ambition. Its nationwide branch network enables rapid deployment, responsive service, and seamless operational reach across India. This capability has earned the trust of premier clients, including Indian Railways and Tata Steel, who rely on Kled for accuracy, durability, and scalable innovation.

As a result, Kled IoT Sensing stands today as a confident, quietly powerful force in India’s industrial-IoT ecosystem.

In an exclusive conversation with The Interview World at Paperex 2025, Krishna Pathare, Product Manager at Kled IoT Sensing Pvt. Ltd., sheds light on the company’s advanced IoT solutions for the paper industry. He explains how these technologies elevate both quality and safety in paper manufacturing, outlines his plans to integrate AI into upcoming offerings, and articulates his vision for driving breakthrough innovations over the next five to ten years.

The following points capture the essence of this compelling discussion.

Q: Could you elaborate on the innovative IoT solutions you offer for the paper industry, and explain how they differ from or improve upon similar solutions currently available in the market?

A: We operate in the instrumentation domain, and we have built a robust system using LoRaWAN technology. This platform supports up to 2,000 sensors across an entire plant, transmitting all data directly to a unified dashboard. You can store this data either on the cloud or on a centralized PC, and from there, generate SMS alerts, trigger relay-based actions, and automate critical responses.

These relay outputs offer flexible control. For example, if a tank approaches overflow, the system can automatically regulate the flow in real time, enabled entirely by our IoT solutions.

Our portfolio includes a fully wireless ultrasonic level sensor with a battery life of three to four years. LoRaWAN, a license-free technology, extends communication up to two kilometers, making the solution exceptionally scalable and cost-efficient.

With this capability, you can create your own private network, without relying on the internet, and cover your entire plant within a two-kilometer radius. Even better, the network can handle up to 2,000 sensors seamlessly, giving you a unified, powerful, and future-ready infrastructure.

Q: How do your solutions improve both the quality and safety aspects of the paper manufacturing process?

A: In many environments, wiring is either impractical or creates unnecessary clutter. To address this, we deploy fully wireless, addressable sensors. For example, our wireless smoke sensor identifies the exact location of an incident. The moment smoke is detected, the system instantly alerts the affected zone with an audible signal while simultaneously notifying the security control room. All events are recorded in real time on the cloud.

This historical data becomes a powerful tool. By reviewing past incidents, you can refine processes, improve response strategies, and continuously optimize plant operations.

Through this approach, we deliver comprehensive monitoring, data logging, and control, covering all three layers of a modern industrial system. And we achieve this with a suite of innovative IoT products designed for precision, reliability, and intelligent automation.

Q: Do you have plans to integrate AI into your systems or future solution offerings?

A: We offer a powerful feature called rule creation, which lets you define operational rules directly from your mobile device or laptop. These rules are then stored automatically in Excel. More importantly, the system is already designed to integrate with AI. As you accumulate historical data, AI can learn from it, take autonomous decisions, and explain which event occurred and what corrective action it executed. In short, our entire ecosystem is ready for AI-driven process control.

Regarding the scope of our solutions, they extend far beyond the paper or oil industry. Our technologies are industry-agnostic, and we have already deployed them across sectors such as steel, education, commercial malls, and smart infrastructure. Our applications range from home automation to smart-city operations.

For instance, we can manage citywide water levels, monitor and prevent flooding in manholes and sewer lines, and even automate waste-bin management. The list of possibilities has virtually no limits. If you present a specific operational challenge, we can design a tailored IoT solution to address it with precision and efficiency.

Q: What innovations are you planning to introduce across these product lines over the next 5 to 10 years?

A: We are currently expanding our presence in the paper industry, and our next focus is the pharmaceutical sector and other high-demand industries. Through this strategic progression, we aim to build a strong, reliable network not only across India but also in international markets.
