CyberEye, an innovative force in the cybersecurity domain, drives impactful solutions to counter the rising tide of cybercrime. Through pioneering technology, the startup pinpoints the precise locations of cybercriminal handlers and supplies this intelligence to law enforcement, speeding up criminal investigations. CyberEye collects critical data points, analyzes them, and generates actionable insights that empower security agencies and clients by harnessing cutting-edge tools such as AI, ML, and IoT.
In an exclusive conversation with The Interview World, Manikanta Y, Co-founder and COO of CyberEye, delves into the cybersecurity arsenal his team has built to stay ahead of cyber threats. He also sheds light on CyberEye’s robust strategies and methodologies, showcases real-world case studies, and highlights how their solutions dismantle even the most intricate cybercrime networks. Here are the essential insights from this enlightening interview.
Q: What are CyberEye’s key offerings in cybersecurity, and what unique features or approaches set its products and solutions apart from competitors in the market?
A: CyberEye is a cybersecurity and IoT startup with a clear mission: to tackle complex cybersecurity challenges faced by government and various industry sectors. We also offer two flagship products, CrimeOS and SenseOS, each designed to strengthen crime investigation and intelligence gathering.
We have created CrimeOS, an advanced investigation platform, tailored for law enforcement agencies. Given the massive backlog of cybercrime cases and limited investigators, solving cybercrimes becomes daunting—especially when criminals operate across regions. Moreover, CrimeOS empowers investigators with a streamlined, guided approach, enabling efficient and rapid investigations. When a cyber complaint arises, our platform extracts key identifiers linked to the crime, such as phone numbers and email addresses. CrimeOS then provides actionable insights, helping investigators trace these “handles” back to the perpetrators.
SenseOS, our second product, serves as a comprehensive intelligence platform. With inputs like an email ID, phone number, or IP address, SenseOS aggregates intelligence from open and diverse sources to build a detailed digital profile of suspects. This data includes names, additional contact details, online profiles, and even location information. Equipped with this intelligence, law enforcement can quickly and accurately identify criminals, accelerating case resolution with precision and speed.
Q: With the increasing digital footprints, what strategies and technologies does your company employ to provide robust, full-proof security solutions for end users?
A: This solution is designed not to secure assets but to support law enforcement and internal agencies in gathering actionable intelligence. For a given email ID or phone number, it also compiles open-source information, aggregating data into a clear, practical format. The goal is to provide agencies with relevant, organized intelligence that they can act on effectively.
Q: How is this product tailored to meet the specific needs of law enforcement agencies in India? Do you currently have any clients in this sector, and could you share relevant case studies or examples of its impact?
A: For the past several years, we have collaborated closely with the Telangana State Police across multiple initiatives. In addition, we are receiving inbound requests from over seven other state law enforcement agencies, along with central government bodies. This demand reflects the significant potential of our product.
Our open-source intelligence solution empowers law enforcement with essential tools to generate valuable leads and accelerate investigations. With this technology, agencies can cut investigation time from days to minutes, marking a transformative leap in efficiency and effectiveness.
Q: How quickly can law enforcement agencies resolve cases using the data points your solution provides, and what impact does it have on the speed and accuracy of investigations?
A: Our platform currently retrieves open-source information from over 300 underlying modules in just seconds. Furthermore, we continuously enhance the platform by adding more modules. We can also incorporate new modules on demand, ensuring our solution remains responsive to the evolving needs of our users.
Q: If criminals avoid digital channels for communication, what strategies or tools does your solution offer to support law enforcement agencies in solving these cases?
A: The landscape of crime is an ongoing rat race. Criminals are increasingly leveraging the latest technologies and refining their methods. In response, we diligently analyze available information to establish connections between criminals and identify gang networks or emerging patterns. We utilize AI and machine learning to uncover hidden trends within this complex environment.
However, criminals also employ inverted patterns through AI, complicating the situation further. To address these challenges, we maintain a dedicated research division that actively collaborates with law enforcement agencies. By engaging with them, we gain insights into the day-to-day challenges they face on the ground. This understanding allows us to manually identify patterns and determine whether they can be addressed through manual intervention or if we need to develop scalable systems for broader applications.
