DiscovBEE, a deep-tech startup, is making significant strides in UAV innovation. The company is currently pioneering stealth technology designs specifically for the defence sector, a breakthrough poised to revolutionize UAV and ballistic product manufacturing.
In an exclusive conversation with The Interview World, Amit Jha, Director of DiscovBEE, delves into the nuances of this cutting-edge stealth technology. He shares insights into the advanced technology driving their designs and discusses the prospective clients they aim to engage. Here are the key takeaways from his interview.
Q: Can you provide insights into the design innovations your team is implementing for UAVs in the defence sector, and how these advancements are enhancing operational capabilities?
A: At DiscovBEE, we are pioneering advanced stealth technology, a critical asset for the Indian Army. Our commitment aligns with the government’s key initiatives, such as Make in India, which calls for groundbreaking innovations within the country.
Currently, we are focused on developing a cutting-edge drone designed to be entirely undetectable. Our goal is to create a UAV that remains invisible to the enemy—impervious to visual detection, radar, or any other detection technology. In this endeavor, design is paramount. We are not involved in the manufacturing of UAVs but are dedicated to its innovative design.
Stealth technology represents a significant leap into the future. As we advance this initiative, we seek additional opportunities, funding, and collaborations with government entities to enhance our efforts. Accepting this challenge as an entrepreneur and startup, we aim to meet high standards and are eager to secure the necessary support to achieve our vision.
Q: Has this technology been patented yet?
A: We are currently in the process of finalizing our developments. As a startup company, my background in mechanical engineering, aerospace, and AI equips me with a profound understanding of design. I have dedicated over four years exclusively to designing stealth technology. While preparing to enter the market, I am also working on securing a patent. By the time we launch, our design will be protected, ensuring our innovation is safeguarded.
Q: Could you describe the profile of your target clients or customer base?
A: My primary focus is on the Indian Army. I am committed to supporting this vital organization, especially given the frequent and concerning reports of border attacks. The technology I am currently developing is specifically designed to enhance border security. This drone, equipped with advanced stealth capabilities, will provide significant benefits for the Indian Army, particularly in its border surveillance operations.
I am crafting this drone with the demanding terrains of Jammu and Kashmir and Siachen in mind. These regions present a complex landscape of dense forests, treacherous rivers, deep valleys, and rugged mountains. My extensive study of these border areas has been crucial in shaping this design. Therefore, the Indian Army stands as my primary client prospect, with my business model firmly rooted in B2B engagements.
Additionally, I am eager to collaborate with other companies involved in drone manufacturing and defence technology. My design offers a unique differentiation that could significantly enhance their product offerings. If given the opportunity, I am confident in my ability to deliver innovative solutions that meet their specific needs and challenges.
Q: Are there any plans to extend this design approach to other products in your portfolio?
A: As a service provider specializing in design for UAV manufacturers, I focus on offering a broad array of services. While drones are a significant part of my offerings, they represent only one aspect of what I provide. My stealth technology, which integrates advanced AI, is another key component. Additionally, I am developing innovative power mechanisms specifically for drones. UAVs are a major segment for my stealth technology, and I am also exploring larger-scale applications, such as combat UAVs or similar systems.
Q: Can you provide more insights into the stealth technology principles and how they enhance operational effectiveness?
A: Stealth technology is a multi-faceted field involving geometry, artificial intelligence (AI), and material science. At its core, specialized materials are engineered to render objects invisible, while precise geometric design further enhances stealth capabilities. AI plays a crucial role in optimizing these designs, driving advanced functionality and efficiency.
Additionally, the integration of radio frequency (RF) and cutting-edge electronic instruments elevates the technology’s performance. Although I am unable to share specific technical details due to ongoing patent applications, it’s important to recognize that stealth technology represents a complex convergence of various engineering disciplines.
This advanced technology provides a significant strategic advantage, enabling users to disrupt enemy strategies with precision. Its stealth properties not only facilitate effective offensive operations but also safeguard valuable equipment and armaments from detection and damage. The combination of these elements ensures a substantial edge in both defence and tactical operations.
Q: What is your broader vision for the future of stealth technology?
A: I am committed to integrating this advanced stealth technology into every piece of defence equipment to ensure it remains undetectable by any technology or surveillance system. The Indian Army represents a significant opportunity for deploying this technology, particularly in UAVs and propulsion systems like missiles. By embedding this technology, we can enhance operational secrecy and effectiveness. Achieving this goal is a major ambition of mine, driven by a vision of superior defence capabilities.
