She reveals the natural ingredients that ensure her products are both chemical-free and healthier, and discusses the potential market size for these innovative solutions. Additionally, she outlines her long-term vision for Green Kutumb, emphasizing the company’s mission to revolutionize the homecare industry and promote healthier living. Here are the key takeaways from our enlightening conversation.

Q: What are the distinctive features or offerings that set Green Kutumb apart from other sustainable housing solutions?

A: At Green Kutumb, we are dedicated to building a healthier homecare brand with the health of our consumers as our top priority. By meticulously selecting ingredients for our products, we ensure they are safe and beneficial for both human health and the environment. Our focus extends beyond just creating effective products; we also examine the impact of these ingredients on the water bodies of India, striving to improve their health alongside that of our consumers.

Our approach leverages the science of good bacteria, which is advantageous for both environmental and human health. The primary ingredient we use, bio-enzymes, is produced through the fermentation of fruit and vegetable peels. This innovative method not only enhances our products’ effectiveness but also addresses significant waste management issues. We source these peels from local juice vendors, promoting a circular economy and supporting sustainable practices within our community.

In addition to using eco-friendly ingredients, we are committed to sustainable packaging. We utilize recycled plastic bottles, sourced from various hotels and establishments, ensuring they are still in good condition and suitable for reuse. This practice reduces plastic waste and aligns with our mission to minimize our environmental footprint.

Through these concerted efforts, Green Kutumb is positioning itself as an environmental champion. Our commitment to sustainability, combined with our focus on consumer health, sets us apart in the homecare industry. We believe that by integrating environmentally friendly practices and prioritizing the well-being of our consumers, we can contribute to a healthier planet and a healthier future for all.

Q: Has Green Kutumb obtained certification from any independent certifying agency for your products?

A: Extensive research has already been conducted on bio-enzymes, providing a strong foundation for our work. However, we are currently in the process of obtaining certifications to validate the product’s effectiveness. To date, we have not received certifications from any governing body.

In the production of organic products, such certifications are not mandatory because we do not use chemicals. Nevertheless, we have secured certifications from an independent laboratory to ensure quality and safety. As far as I know, there is no governing body that certifies organic products and bio-enzymes. However, many private organizations offer certifications for the absence of unhealthy chemicals. We plan to leverage their expertise and certification services before launching our products in the market to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Q: Could you please provide insights into the current market size and growth potential for the organic products your startup is preparing to launch?

A: The current market size stands at USD 3.2 billion, with a robust growth rate of 17% to 23% CAGR. This growth indicates substantial potential in the international market. Consequently, we aim to target this global market in the next 3-4 years, as green solutions are already trending internationally. Meanwhile, in India, the concept of green solutions is still relatively new, presenting significant opportunities for exploration and expansion within the domestic market.

Q: Looking ahead 5-10 years, how do you envision your role and impact evolving within this business?

A: To be candid, my goal is to seek semi-acquisition or full acquisition of Green Kutumb within the next 5-6 years. Subsequently, I plan to channel my efforts into new ventures focused on waste management and plastic recyclability. Post-acquisition, I will have the necessary capital to transform these ideas into tangible products. By leveraging the resources and support gained through acquisition, I am confident that I can develop innovative solutions to address environmental challenges and make a significant impact in the waste management and plastic recycling sectors.
