Good Enough Energy is rapidly emerging as a leading innovator in India’s battery energy storage systems (BESS) space. The company delivers modular, scalable solutions tailored for renewable energy applications—including wind, solar-hybrid systems, and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). Its flagship platforms—StoreEdge 5.0 and StoreEdge 0.25—seamlessly blend cutting-edge design with the flexibility to meet diverse energy demands.

By integrating a robust Energy Management System (EMS) within its BESS units, Good Enough Energy maximizes both economic efficiency and environmental sustainability. The result: reliable performance, enhanced energy optimization, and greener operations.

Fuelled by a bold vision to democratize clean energy, the company is on a mission to make renewable power seamlessly accessible in everyday life. With a focus on durability, eco-friendliness, and innovation, it positions itself at the forefront of India’s transition toward sustainable energy storage—serving both industrial and consumer sectors.

At MachAuto Expo, in an exclusive interaction with The Interview World, Adit Agarwal, Director at Good Enough Energy Pvt. Ltd., shared deep insights into the company’s energy storage offerings. He outlined the operational efficiency and backup duration of their systems, highlighted the key industries deploying their solutions, and discussed the next wave of innovations currently in development. Most importantly, he articulated a long-term vision for scalable growth and strategic market expansion.

Here are the key takeaways from that engaging and forward-looking conversation.

Q: Could you elaborate on the energy storage solutions that Good Enough Energy provides for industrial applications, and what key differentiators set your offerings apart in a competitive market?

A: Good Enough Energy manufactures large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) designed to store surplus electricity and release it when needed. These advanced battery systems serve as reliable backup power solutions, particularly for facilities with high energy consumption—such as factories, commercial buildings, and critical infrastructure. In many scenarios, they offer a superior alternative to traditional diesel or gas generators, which often fall short in long-duration reliability.

We stand among the first—and the largest—BESS manufacturers in India. Our current production facility boasts an impressive annual capacity of 7 gigawatt-hours. To put that into perspective, India’s total installed BESS capacity, as of 2025, is still under 500 megawatt-hours. That scale underscores our leadership and commitment to accelerating the country’s energy storage capabilities.

We operate as a fully engineering-driven company, and our solutions are completely designed, developed, and manufactured in India. While many players import foreign-made systems and simply rebrand them, we deliver genuine, indigenous innovation.

Our systems are built to last—with a 25-year lifespan and up to 10,000 charge cycles—and offer exceptionally high efficiency. More importantly, our BESS platforms are fully integrated, all-in-one solutions. Customers receive a plug-and-play system that includes everything required for operation—no additional equipment needed.

Each unit comes with a bidirectional inverter (PCS), a cooling system, and all essential components housed within a single, compact container. We currently offer two standard configurations that cater to a wide range of use cases.

From airports, hospitals, and hotels to factories, shopping malls, and exhibition centers like MachAuto, our solutions deliver dependable power wherever energy demand is high.

In short, Good Enough Energy is redefining the energy backup landscape with smarter, cleaner, and future-ready storage systems—built in India, for India.

Q: Can you share insights into the operational efficiency of your energy storage system?

A: This system delivers over 90% round-trip efficiency. To put it simply—if you store 100 units of energy, you reliably retrieve at least 90 units.

That level of efficiency sets it apart from most alternatives currently available in the market.

Moreover, the system supports up to 10,000 charge-discharge cycles, ensuring long-term durability. That’s why it confidently carries a 25-year operational lifespan—engineered for performance, built to last.

Q: What is the expected power backup duration from a fully charged unit?

A: Our energy storage system delivers uninterrupted power for up to two hours, depending on the battery capacity installed. For optimal performance, we recommend configuring it for two to four hours of backup. Need more? Simply scale up by adding additional batteries—our system is designed to expand effortlessly.

Q: Can you share the types of industries that are currently leveraging your energy storage systems?

A: We serve a diverse range of industries across multiple verticals. For instance, we work with one of the country’s largest airports, as well as several manufacturing companies—ranging from food processing units to steel production facilities. Some of our clients also operate in heavy industrial sectors.

In essence, the specific industry is secondary. What truly matters is their energy demand. Any enterprise with high electricity consumption and a need for uninterrupted power stands to benefit significantly from our solution.

Here’s why: the moment power goes out, ongoing production can be compromised, often resulting in an entire batch being ruined. That’s precisely where our system steps in. It not only ensures continuous power but also safeguards operational efficiency—eliminating downtime, protecting productivity, and ultimately saving costs.

Q: Could you shed light on the R&D or innovation roadmap for your existing energy storage systems, and what new capabilities users can expect in the near future?

A: We plan to establish a state-of-the-art cell manufacturing facility by 2027. Our goal is clear: to fully reverse-engineer the product and build it entirely in India—from design to production to final assembly—delivering a truly homegrown solution for the Indian market.

At present, the cells we use are highly sophisticated and technologically advanced. Unfortunately, no domestic partner has yet met the precision and innovation required. However, we intend to take control of that capability ourselves within the next two years, ensuring both quality and self-reliance.

Q: How do you envision scaling your business and expanding into new markets over the next 5 to 10 years?

A: Our foremost ambition is to prove to the world that India can create world-class technology products—not just replicate them or serve as a software hub.

Moreover, we reject the notion that India should compete merely as the cheapest manufacturing destination. That’s not a badge of honor. Instead, we aim to champion excellence—delivering high-quality, reliable, and globally competitive manufacturing. Not “good enough,” but the best.

After all, there’s no sustainable future in a race to the bottom. Our vision is bigger. We want to deliver cutting-edge solutions to the world while strengthening India’s own energy infrastructure. That means building a reliable, resilient grid powered by both renewables and advanced energy storage.
