Swan Environmental Pvt. Ltd. has been redefining environmental monitoring since 1988. Established by experts rooted deeply in environmental science, the company has evolved into one of India’s most trusted authorities in precision monitoring of soil, water, air, and noise: the very foundations of our ecosystem.

Headquartered in Hyderabad and anchored by regional hubs in Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai, Swan blends nationwide presence with local agility. Its ISO 9001:2015 certification testifies to an uncompromising pursuit of quality. At the same time, strategic partnerships with over 30 global technology leaders ensure that world-class solutions seamlessly reach Indian industries.

The company’s portfolio reflects both breadth and depth. From Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Systems (CAAQMS) and Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) to advanced Effluent Quality Monitoring and state-of-the-art R&D instruments, Swan delivers more than 120 high-performance solutions. Yet, what truly distinguishes Swan is not just its technology, but its holistic approach, design, installation, maintenance, and data integration, executed with precision and reliability.

In essence, Swan does more than monitor the environment. It safeguards the future.

At the Delhi Water Expo 2025, The Interview World engaged in an exclusive conversation with Jaswinder Singh Malhotra, Manager Sales at Swan Environmental Pvt. Ltd. He spoke at length about the company’s specialized solutions for the water industry, explained the manufacturing practices that guarantee quality, outlined the roadmap for future innovations, and shared insights on both domestic and international business. His perspective offers a compelling glimpse into Swan’s vision and direction.

Q: Could you elaborate on the solutions or products your company offers for the water industry, highlighting their technological advancements, efficiency, and effectiveness in addressing industry challenges?

A: We specialize in advanced water quality monitoring solutions that address diverse industrial and environmental needs. Our technologies cover critical parameters such as COD, BOD, pH, conductivity, and TDS, enabling precise and reliable assessment of water health.

To meet varied requirements, we offer products across three categories. First, laboratory-based systems designed for wet chemistry methods. Second, robust online monitoring solutions for real-time data. And third, specialized instruments for microbiological monitoring, including E. coli and total coliform detection.

For groundwater assessment, we provide piezometers widely used by government agencies to continuously track borewell water levels. In wastewater applications, our portfolio extends to online pH and conductivity analyzers that deliver accurate process monitoring and control.

For advanced laboratories, we supply Total Organic Carbon (TOC) analyzers, indispensable for measuring organic content in water. Since organic load directly indicates the level of pollution, TOC monitoring has become a critical benchmark for water quality.

In addition, we offer Oxytube, an innovative solution for enhancing dissolved oxygen (DO) in wastewater treatment plants. Installed between pipelines, Oxytube harnesses the kinetic energy of flowing water to draw oxygen from the atmosphere, effectively raising DO levels without external energy input.

Together, these solutions reflect our comprehensive approach to water quality management—combining accuracy, innovation, and sustainability.

Q: Are these products being fully manufactured indigenously in India, or are they primarily assembled domestically after sourcing components from elsewhere?

A: We follow a balanced approach to our product portfolio: some we manufacture domestically, while others we import and distribute in the market. For instance, we design and manufacture DWLRs in India, ensuring they meet local industry needs with precision. Similarly, our solutions for ambient and industrial air quality monitoring are developed and produced here, reflecting our commitment to indigenous manufacturing. The remaining range of products, we source globally and bring to India, making advanced technologies accessible to our customers.

Q: How do your products offer a price advantage compared to other manufacturers in India, while maintaining quality and performance standards?

A: When it comes to pricing, quality always determines the value. We price our products strictly in line with the quality they deliver. And the quality we offer stands fully at par with prevailing market standards.

Q: What is your roadmap for future innovations built on these products manufactured in India, and what new features or advancements do you plan to introduce?

A: Until now, we have focused primarily on monitoring solutions. However, we are now expanding our portfolio to include wastewater treatment systems as well as advanced ambient air quality solutions. This marks the next phase of our growth. At the same time, we are strengthening our manufacturing capabilities in India to produce a wider range of products locally. By doing so, we aim to reduce dependence on foreign brands and build greater self-reliance in delivering world-class solutions.

Q: Are your products sold exclusively in India, or do you also export? If so, which international markets are you currently catering to?

A: At present, exports form only a small share of our business. Last year, we exported primarily our industrial emission process monitoring systems, with shipments mainly to a few Gulf countries. Beyond that, the contribution of exports remains limited, accounting for barely 5 to 7 percent of our overall revenue.
