With deep expertise across next-generation AI, automation, cloud engineering, and full-stack development, Dexter Tech Labs focuses relentlessly on measurable impact. From embedding AI into everyday workflows to scaling complex digital platforms, the team delivers with precision, speed, and purpose. Grounded in accountability and true partnership, Dexter Tech Labs exists for one mission: to turn visionary thinking into powerful, working technology that gives clients an enduring competitive edge.

In an exclusive conversation with The Interview World at the 4th International SME Convention, organized by the India SME Forum in collaboration with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India, Shivam Pitaria, Founder & CEO of Dexter Tech Labs, shared deep insights into the company’s AI-driven products and solutions. He discussed how artificial intelligence will reshape industries over the next decade by striking a balance between automation and human employment, fostering meaningful human–machine collaboration. Pitaria also revealed how Dexter Tech Labs is expanding its domestic and international operations, highlighted the major innovations planned for the coming five to ten years, and explored how, with the rise of agentic AI, human agents can upskill to collaborate effectively with intelligent systems, ultimately enhancing service quality across sectors.

Here are the key takeaways from his thought-provoking conversation.

Q: Could you elaborate on the products and solutions Dexter Tech Labs offers in emerging technologies, particularly in the field of AI?

A: At Dexter Tech Labs, we specialize in AI implementation, custom application development, staff augmentation, and cloud and DevOps solutions. While our current focus lies primarily on delivering high-impact services, we are also building innovative AI-driven solutions that push the boundaries of what’s possible.

We partner with leading organizations such as Bajaj Capital, Protean, and Nagarro, helping them optimize workflows, reduce operational effort, and achieve significant time and cost savings. Our approach goes beyond technology deployment—it’s about enabling smarter, faster, and more efficient business outcomes.

Recently, we showcased one of our AI solutions at a renewable energy event, where we collaborated with Inverted Energy to implement an AI-powered voice assistant. This solution was designed to engage booth visitors, and eventually website users, by helping them explore the company’s latest energy storage product. The intelligent assistant could understand user requirements, recommend the most suitable energy solutions, and suggest precise specifications such as voltage, power capacity, and configuration size.

This project reflects our commitment to transforming industries through intelligent automation and real-world AI applications. We look forward to collaborating with forward-thinking organizations seeking innovative, data-driven solutions that enhance efficiency and elevate customer engagement.

Q: How do you foresee AI shaping industries over the next decade while balancing automation’s productivity gains with the need to preserve jobs and meaningful human–machine collaboration?

A: Even today, every AI solution we deploy involves some level of human interaction. The process isn’t entirely automated, and it shouldn’t be. While AI can handle nearly 95% of use cases, there remains a critical 5% that require human judgment or contextual understanding. In such instances, the system seamlessly escalates the task to a human expert whenever intervention is needed.

This hybrid model, where AI and humans complement each other, is already in motion. Looking ahead, automation might reach 99% efficiency, yet that final 1% will always demand human oversight. Complete automation isn’t the goal; effective collaboration is.

As AI takes over repetitive and calculation-heavy tasks, humans will be freed to focus on creative, strategic, and emotionally intelligent work, areas where human capabilities truly excel. That, I believe, defines the real future of AI: not replacing humans, but amplifying human potential through intelligent partnership.

Q: Are your services currently limited to India, or are you also exporting them? If so, which international markets or countries are you serving?

A: We currently serve both domestic and international clients, with nearly 60% of our clientele based in India. Beyond that, we provide services to organizations in the United States and the Middle East, primarily in Dubai. Recently, we’ve also begun expanding into European markets. Although it’s still the early stage of our global outreach, the momentum is strong, and we’re steadily building a broader international presence.

Q: What major AI or emerging technology breakthroughs do you aim to develop in the next 5–10 years, and how do you plan them?

A: Let’s keep the details under wraps for now, but we’re currently developing an AI agent solution that could redefine how work is done. Without revealing too much, the concept builds on the rapid evolution of AI agents capable of writing code and executing complex tasks autonomously.

Looking ahead, the future of work may shift dramatically, where organizations hire AI-driven agents instead of traditional human roles for certain functions. Our upcoming solution is being designed along these lines. It’s still in the early stages, but the potential impact is immense.

Q: With agentic AI advancing, how can human agents upskill to collaborate effectively with AI systems and enhance service quality across industries?

A: At present, our AI agents efficiently manage Level 1 and Level 2 customer interactions, handling initial queries with remarkable accuracy and speed. This allows human agents to focus on the next level of engagement, where deeper product knowledge and nuanced understanding of customer needs are essential.

To stay ahead, human agents must upskill, developing comprehensive expertise in the products they represent and mastering customer behaviour insights. With AI systems capturing and organizing all client interactions and information, human agents gain full visibility into every conversation. They can then use this intelligence to deliver more personalized, empathetic, and high-value support.

Ultimately, we aim to automate up to 80% of routine customer calls through AI. The remaining 20%, the most complex and meaningful interactions, will be handled by humans, ensuring precision, empathy, and exceptional service quality that AI alone cannot achieve.
