At FSIE 2025, The Interview World spoke exclusively with Michel Bou Nader, General Manager of Avenger Systems. He discussed the company’s pioneering fire detection and suppression solutions tailored for multiple industries. He also shared insights on the opportunities India presents, outlined the innovations Avenger plans to develop atop its existing portfolio, and articulated a long-term vision for market expansion and sustained business growth. The following are the key highlights from his engaging conversation.
Q: Could you elaborate on the innovative fire detection and suppression solutions that Avenger Systems has developed for different industries?
A: At Avenger Systems LLC, we design and deliver cutting-edge fire alarm solutions, alongside advanced voice evacuation and graphics software.
Our portfolio also includes clean agent suppression systems—Avenger 227™ and Avenger 5112™—as well as restaurant-specific solutions, including UL-listed kitchen hood fire suppression systems. All our products are FM-approved and proudly manufactured in the United States.
We operate across most continents, with a particularly strong presence in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and the U.S. Every product meets stringent compliance standards, and our detection systems adhere fully to NFPA 72.
Our clean agent fire suppression systems are engineered to tackle Class A, B, and C fires. They carry approvals from the most reputable U.S. testing labs, including UL and FM, and comply completely with NFPA 2001 codes for clean agent systems. Meanwhile, our kitchen solutions meet UL 300 standards, the benchmark for wet chemical restaurant and kitchen hood fire suppression systems.
This year, we are participating in more than a dozen international exhibitions to showcase our innovative products. Our next appearance will be at Fire India.
By the end of the month, we will also be present at Intersect Saudi Arabia, followed by Intersect Dubai in January. Earlier, we showcased at Secutec Vietnam, and we remain committed to attending every major exhibition in the region—any platform of significance, we make sure not to miss.
We are also strongly represented across markets through our regional teams. For example, Sagar Thalakkattil, Regional Manager at Avenger Systems LLC, oversees India, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia. Similarly, we have dedicated regional representatives in every territory and country we operate in.
Q: How do you perceive the Indian market for your products?
A: India represents one of the most promising and high-potential markets for us. We firmly believe in its growth trajectory and are committed to expanding across both public and private sectors.
The country offers abundant opportunities, but we recognize the need to go beyond a few select regions. Our strategy is to explore and establish a presence in every part of India.
Our goal is to reach all 29 states and cover every major city, ensuring comprehensive market penetration. We aim to grow steadily, creating value both for our company and for the Indian market, while tapping into its full potential.
Q: What new innovations do you plan to build upon the existing solutions?
A: We have several strategic plans underway. One key focus is on the detection side, where we aim to enhance our competitiveness. While our products are proudly American-made, they can be costlier than alternatives manufactured in China or India.
To address this, we are exploring a new range of more economical products. Importantly, we will never compromise on quality or compliance with established codes and standards. One option under consideration is a line compliant with EN54 European standards. These products could be manufactured outside the United States, reducing tariffs and enabling us to enter new markets—including Europe, regulated regions in Africa, and both Eastern and Western Europe—where we currently have limited presence.
Our goal is to balance affordability with uncompromised performance, ensuring we remain competitive while maintaining the trust and reliability associated with our brand.
Q: Where do you see Avenger’s products in the next 5 to 10 years in terms of market expansion, innovation, and overall business growth?
A: We are actively expanding our presence in China and India, focusing on the growing sector of lithium-ion batteries and gas detection.
Our efforts center on innovation and the development of environmentally responsible, green products. We closely follow emerging industry trends to deliver relevant solutions. The lithium-ion battery sector, along with BASS systems, presents a significant niche where we can provide comprehensive fire safety solutions.
Our offerings include advanced release panels, state-of-the-art gas detection systems, and the appropriate suppression agents to effectively handle Class D fires, including those involving lithium-ion batteries. By combining expertise with targeted innovation, we aim to meet the evolving needs of this high-growth market.
