Dimension Software operates as a global technology firm headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand, with a sharp focus on industrial information systems and real-time data solutions. Since its founding in 2008, the company has consistently delivered advanced operational intelligence platforms that empower large industrial enterprises to visualize, analyse, and optimize asset performance with precision. Its flagship solutions, Asset Intellect and Alarm Sentinel, integrate data seamlessly while enabling sophisticated analytics, intuitive visualization, and robust alarm management. As a result, organizations across energy, mining, utilities, and manufacturing sectors enhance productivity, strengthen safety frameworks, and make faster, data-driven decisions. Moreover, Dimension Software reinforces its impact through a strong global partner ecosystem, sustained innovation, and a deeply embedded customer-centric approach.

In a focused interaction with The Interview World at the 33rd Convergence India Expo, Blake Darly, Head of Technical Sales & Solutions at Dimension Software, alongside Harsh Patel, Managing Director at Kognisense Consulting, articulate a clear and forward-looking perspective. They examine the core capabilities of Alarm Sentinel, define the range of digital assets it manages, and evaluate the emerging opportunities for digital asset management within India’s mining sector. Furthermore, they outline upcoming innovations planned on top of existing platforms while substantiating the measurable operational gains delivered by their solutions. The following are the key insights from this substantive and high-impact discussion.

Q: Can you outline the core capabilities of Alarm Sentinel, the types of digital assets it manages, and the key differentiators that set your solution apart in this space?

A: We deliver advanced software solutions tailored for heavy industries, including mining, manufacturing, oil and gas, power generation, utilities, and smart cities. At the core, we focus on improving operational efficiency through intelligent, data-driven systems.

Consider a typical mining operation: when it lacks digitization and operates with minimal digital infrastructure, it leaves substantial efficiency gains untapped. By contrast, deploying solutions like ours enables organizations to unlock immediate value, often achieving efficiency improvements in the range of 10–15 percent with relative ease.

In addition, we extend our capabilities beyond efficiency. We design and implement solutions that strengthen safety, enhance asset management, and improve reliability. Consequently, our platforms provide a comprehensive operational framework that drives performance, reduces risk, and enables more informed decision-making across complex industrial environments.

Q: What is your assessment of the opportunity landscape for digital asset management in India’s mining sector, and which key drivers are shaping demand in this market?

A: We entered the Indian market just ten months ago and chose to operate through our partner, Kognisense Consulting. Despite this relatively short tenure, we have already secured a major mining client, one of the leading players in India’s mining sector.

We subsequently executed a project at one of their copper processing facilities, where we focused on optimizing operational processes. The engagement delivered strong, measurable outcomes and proved highly successful. As a result, it has generated significant market traction and triggered sustained interest from other industry stakeholders.

Q: What new innovations or enhancements are you planning to develop on top of your existing platforms and offerings, and how will they evolve your value proposition?

A: We have recently introduced a powerful AI-driven tool designed to integrate seamlessly with existing Asset Intellect environments. This capability enables organizations to extract greater value from the data they already possess and, more importantly, to make faster, more informed decisions.

Specifically, the tool supports use cases such as asset management, asset health monitoring, and reliability optimization. Users can simply prompt the system, for instance, by asking where operational improvements are possible. In response, the AI analyses the full spectrum of available data and delivers actionable insights with precision.

Traditionally, such analysis would require one to two days of manual effort to review data and arrive at a decision. By contrast, this tool compresses that timeline dramatically, producing comparable, if not superior, outcomes within minutes, often in just one or two minutes. Moreover, it automates report generation, synthesizes critical knowledge, and strengthens decision-making processes.

As a result, this solution represents a significant leap in operational intelligence. We are formally rolling it out next month.

Q: How effectively does your platform manage real-time alerts, what is the typical response time for addressing on-ground issues, and what measurable operational benefits does your software deliver?

A: Two priorities define our approach. First, when a customer, whether a power generation facility or a mining operation, faces a critical problem, we focus on how rapidly we can design and deploy a targeted solution. Second, once the solution is in place, we equip them with the right tools to identify, diagnose, and resolve future issues independently and at scale.

Admittedly, our scope spans multiple industries and use cases, which makes a single, uniform metric difficult to define. However, specific outcomes illustrate our impact clearly. For example, a U.S.-based oil refining company operating 16 refineries adopted our platform. Within one year, they reported saving approximately two hours per engineer, per site, every day, an efficiency gain of considerable magnitude.

In another instance, a customer experienced a potential equipment failure scenario. Our software detected early warning signals and alerted the relevant teams in time to intervene. As a result, the organization avoided a major asset failure, with estimated savings of nearly $80 million.

These examples underscore a consistent pattern: we accelerate problem resolution, enhance operational visibility, and deliver measurable, high-value outcomes.
