Backed by this heritage, the company stands at the intersection of technology and public good, advancing a vision where safety, efficiency, and sustainability converge.

Every signal it powers and every system it designs reinforces one mission — to make road travel smarter, safer, and more human. Ador Traffic is not just managing movement; it is shaping the future of mobility, one intelligent intersection at a time.

At the TrafficInfraTech Expo 2025, The Interview World sat down with Kanchan Khade, Executive – Sales, Ador Powertron Ltd. In an engaging conversation, she delved into the company’s pioneering traffic management solutions, revealed upcoming innovations, and explained what differentiates Ador from its competitors. She also discussed how emerging technologies are being integrated into existing systems and shared her vision for the company’s long-term growth.

Here are the key insights from that compelling exchange.

Q: Could you elaborate on the traffic management solutions offered by Ador Traffic and the key challenges these solutions aim to address?

A: Ador Traffic, a proud division of the 119-year-old Ador Group, was established in 2012 with a clear mission — to make every journey safer and ensure that people reach home without harm.

We achieve this by designing intelligent systems that monitor, manage, and enforce safe driving behaviour. One of our flagship innovations, the Speed Enforcement System, helps curb overspeeding — a major cause of accidents on highways. Our deployment on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway stands as a proven example, where accident rates have significantly declined since the system’s installation.

Beyond speed management, we also deliver Automatic Traffic Management Systems (ATMS) that enhance road awareness in real time. These systems alert drivers instantly about lane closures, accidents, or disruptions ahead, helping them make safer driving decisions.

In case of an accident, our integrated Emergency Call Box (ECB) ensures that help is never far away. Once activated, it immediately alerts the nearest toll control room, which then contacts the police and dispatches an ambulance to the exact location — ensuring rapid emergency response when every second counts.

Our Incident Detection System (IDS) takes road safety even further. Using advanced analytics, it can identify up to nine types of incidents — including triple riding, seatbelt or helmet violations, mobile phone use while driving, stalled vehicles, and even animal intrusions.

All these systems feed real-time data into a centralized control room, where operators can monitor live traffic conditions, generate detailed reports, and analyze trends through comprehensive Excel and PDF logs.

Our recent implementation on the Mumbai–Pune Expressway uses this data to identify overspeeding vehicles. The information is seamlessly transferred to the Regional Transport Offices (RTOs), which issue challans to violators. If you’ve received one recently, there’s a good chance it came from an Ador-powered system — a small reminder that we’re working to keep you safe.

At Ador Traffic, every innovation serves one purpose — to save lives by making roads smarter, safer, and more responsive.

Q: What kind of innovations is your company planning to introduce over the next 5 to 10 years?

A: Ador Traffic has developed a dedicated safety solution for road maintenance crews — the Truck-Mounted Attenuator (TMA) system.

This innovative system is designed to protect both road workers and motorists. In the event a driver fails to change lanes or approaches a work zone at high speed, the TMA absorbs the impact, dramatically reducing the risk of severe injury or fatality. By doing so, it safeguards not only the maintenance staff on the ground but also the drivers themselves.

We have already implemented these life-saving systems at select sites, and the results have been highly encouraging. Building on this success, Ador Traffic now aims to introduce Truck-Mounted Attenuators across the market on a larger scale — reinforcing our mission to make every road safer for those who travel it and those who maintain it.

Q: How does your company differentiate itself from the competition, and what key factors set it apart in the market?

A: What truly sets Ador Traffic apart is its unwavering commitment to “Make in India.” As a proudly Indian company headquartered in Pune, we design, develop, and manufacture our solutions entirely within the country. This homegrown approach not only strengthens India’s self-reliance in intelligent mobility systems but also ensures that every innovation is tailored to local needs and conditions.

Beyond innovation, we place the highest priority on data accuracy and data privacy. Our systems are engineered to deliver precise, reliable insights while maintaining the highest standards of information security — a distinction that consistently sets us ahead of the competition.

Looking ahead, our goal for the next five years is clear: to become India’s most trusted and reliable provider of traffic management solutions. We are already a trusted partner to those who have adopted our systems, and we’re determined to expand that trust nationwide — driving safer, smarter, and more sustainable mobility for every Indian road.

Q: Are you exploring ways to integrate emerging technologies like AI, IoT, and blockchain into your solutions?

A: We are actively working on integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) into our traffic management solutions. These technologies will enable smarter analytics, predictive insights, and real-time responsiveness across our systems.

Our teams are already deep into development, and we are preparing to unveil comprehensive, next-generation solutions soon. Once finalized, we will share the full details — marking another milestone in our journey toward intelligent, connected, and future-ready mobility.

Q: Looking ahead, how do you see Ador Traffic evolving over the next decade in market presence and business growth?

A: As I’ve shared earlier, my vision is for Ador Traffic to become India’s most trusted service and solution provider in traffic management. I am confident that our expertise will soon integrate seamlessly with NHAI and NHIT initiatives to strengthen the nation’s highway infrastructure.

We are already engaged in multiple ongoing projects across the country, delivering advanced systems that redefine safety and efficiency on Indian roads. Beyond highways, we are also expanding into campus-based traffic solutions, where our tailored technologies enhance mobility, security, and operational control within institutional and industrial campuses. With our growing partnerships and proven capabilities, I believe Ador Traffic is well positioned to lead India’s transformation toward safer, smarter, and more connected mobility networks.
