In an exclusive conversation with The Interview World, Yogesh Sethi, Founder and CEO of MINDify Health, delves into how his platform addresses the unique mental health challenges faced by women. He further outlines the diverse services offered by his company, shares insights into their innovative business model, and explores untapped market opportunities. Sethi also articulates his long-term vision for expanding the impact of MINDify Health. Here are the key insights from this compelling conversation.

Q: Can you provide insights into how MINDify Health’s platform addresses the specific mental health challenges faced by women?

A: MINDify Health leads the way in offering multilingual digital therapeutic solutions tailored specifically for women’s behavioral health needs. Our mission is to provide mental health products that address a wide spectrum of anxieties experienced by women at various life stages, including preconception, pregnancy, postpartum, menopause, fertility, and medicare. The reality is that approximately 150 million women in India face mental health challenges each year—a vast, underserved demographic that urgently requires attention.

Women’s mental health is uniquely complex, influenced by not only physical but also physiological, genetic, neurological, and psychological factors. Additionally, hormonal fluctuations and gender-specific traits significantly impact their cognitive functions, thereby affecting overall mental well-being. This makes a one-size-fits-all approach ineffective.

At MINDify, we recognize that the causes, effects, and coping mechanisms for mental health issues in women require a highly personalized approach. Moreover, we specialize in crafting customized solutions, therapeutic interventions, preventive measures, and treatment plans designed to meet their distinct needs. Our platform delivers these comprehensive, personalized therapies directly to women’s fingertips, in multiple languages, ensuring accessible and effective support for their mental wellness.

Q: What specific services does MINDify Health offer to support the mental well-being of women?

A: We focus on three core domains. First, we address mental wellness, targeting a wide range of anxieties. Second, we tackle severe disorder-related issues, covering various behavioral health challenges.

Our approach offers a comprehensive cycle of therapeutic interventions, blending digital and online therapies. These solutions serve as an adjunct to clinician-managed outpatient care, seamlessly integrating with the patient care provided by healthcare professionals. Whether it’s at the preconception stage, during fertility treatments, postpartum, or managing specific disorders, our platform provides tailored support.

From personality disorders to anxiety and depression, we collaborate closely with the medical community to ensure effective care. Currently, we partner with over 32 healthcare organizations to deliver these specialized services, strengthening our commitment to holistic mental health support.

Q: Can you explain the business model of MINDify Health and how you plan to generate revenue from the platform?

A: We focus primarily on a B-to-H-to-C model, which stands for Business to Healthcare to Customer. In this framework, our primary customers are patients within the medical community that we serve. We either integrate our services with comprehensive healthcare solutions through specialized programs or offer targeted therapeutic interventions that complement clinician-managed outpatient care.

To simplify, consider a psychiatrist treating women with specific disorders. The standard medical guidelines include pharmacology (medication) and psychology (therapy). We handle the entire therapeutic and digital therapeutics aspect, seamlessly synchronizing our solutions with the medication prescribed by doctors.

In terms of revenue, we’ve seen rapid growth in a short span. We conduct a combination of technology-driven sessions, online therapies, and adjunct support for outpatient care. Currently, we’re delivering approximately 700 to 750 sessions monthly. This consistent volume is already generating steady revenue.

Moreover, we’ve established a strong network, including over 32 medical affiliates who collaborate with us to reach and support patients. Notably, among our early adopters, we’ve achieved significant results—reducing anxiety levels by 40% to 47% within just six weeks through our digital therapeutic interventions.

Our retention rate stands at an impressive 72%, significantly higher than the industry average of 40% to 50%. Additionally, our conversion rate is notably high, reflecting strong market acceptance and positive feedback. So far, the response from our partners and customers has been overwhelmingly encouraging.

Q: What are the key market opportunities in India that MINDify Health aims to leverage for its product?

A: The issue at hand is undeniably vast, impacting nearly 150 million women. To break it down: approximately 56 million women suffer from anxiety and depression. Postpartum depression affects 22% of women, while anxiety troubles around 40-45% of women during pregnancy. Furthermore, 32% of women undergoing fertility treatments experience depressive symptoms.

When it comes to healthcare, 24% of women develop depression following surgery. These statistics clearly highlight the enormity of the problem. Yet, despite this, there has been a glaring lack of tailored solutions.

The standard, one-size-fits-all treatments currently available fail to adequately address these issues, leading to a treatment gap of nearly 70% among women in India. Moreover, treatment dropout rates are alarmingly high, with almost 50% discontinuing their care prematurely.

This is a matter of grave concern. We are committed to addressing this gap by focusing on customized solutions that truly meet the unique needs of women’s mental health.

Q: Where do you envision MINDify Health in the next 5 to 10 years, and what are your long-term goals for the business?

A: We’re not focused on competing with Indian players because, frankly, there aren’t any other femtech companies in the mental health space here. Instead, our sights are set globally. Our goal is clear: within the next 7 to 10 years, we aim to secure a spot among the top 15 femtech companies worldwide. That’s the benchmark we’re striving for, and we’re committed to getting there.
