Here are the key takeaways from this insightful conversation.

Q: Could you share insights into your new brand Youdha and its role in revolutionizing the electric mobility segment?

A: The Youdha brand is a game-changer, introducing innovative features to stand out. It’s not merely a product launch—it’s the unveiling of a vision. This brand encompasses products across various categories, all tailored to meet the needs of the masses. Unlike our premium offerings, Youdha targets everyday heroes—those who power through daily commutes, operate vehicles tirelessly, and work relentlessly to uplift their families.

With Youdha, we celebrate these unsung warriors, acknowledging their resilience and dedication. The brand name itself signifies strength and distinction. Moreover, it directly addresses these frontline champions, honoring their contributions to society. Through this launch, we proudly present Youdha as a trailblazer in the electric mobility space, dedicated to empowering the true warriors of everyday life.

Q: How does Youdha position itself as a future-ready solution in the electric mobility sector?

A: Yes, the product is fully future-ready. We are introducing it across multiple segments while integrating it into the Youdha brand. Over time, Youdha aims to broaden its portfolio, focusing exclusively on the diverse demands of the electric three-wheeler market. This strategic expansion underscores our unwavering commitment to innovation and delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.

Q: How does Youdha differentiate itself from other products currently available in the electric mobility market?

A: I won’t compare our product to others; instead, I’ll measure it against our own category. Under the Lohia brand, we were seen as premium. Our vehicles, priced between Rs. 150,000 and Rs. 200,000, were considered expensive. However, our future goal is clear: we aim to make our products more accessible, targeting the masses while staying true to our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our customers.

Q: What is your perspective on the current growth trajectory of the electric vehicle market in India?

A: The electric vehicle market in India is growing, but its current market share remains low. In the overall vehicle segment, electric vehicles account for only 55-60% of the total market. When it comes to two-wheelers, their share is even smaller, at just 2%. This highlights a significant opportunity—there is still a vast untapped market in the electric vehicle sector.

Q: How do Indian electric mobility products compare to those from other countries, including China, in terms of quality and innovation?

A: China is not a relevant market for comparison. If we are to draw comparisons, we should look to the European and American markets. When we consider what makes a product successful on Indian roads, it’s important to note that success in India often translates to success globally. Furthermore, Indian products can hold their own against European offerings, as they too are built with a strong focus on quality. In terms of quality of life, Indian products are equally competitive.

Q: Which international markets are you currently exporting your products to?

A: Currently, we are not exporting, but we are actively exploring the specific qualities that will enable us to do so in the future.
