In an exclusive conversation with The Interview World, Amit Tawade, Country Manager (India), JHC Technology, discussed how the company harnesses emerging technologies to solve major challenges in traffic and transportation management. He revealed insights into their innovative products, built upon existing intelligent transportation solutions. Moreover, he emphasized the growing market opportunities in India as transportation infrastructure expands. Amit also highlighted the international markets where JHC Technology exports its products. Here are the key insights from this engaging conversation.
Q: How is JHC Technology leveraging emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, IIoT, and edge computing to address the key challenges in traffic infrastructure management?
A: JHC Technology has established itself as a premier manufacturer of industrial-grade computers, with over two decades of expertise. We specialize in designing computers engineered for harsh, dusty, and rugged environments, particularly those prone to high dust levels or intense vibration. Traffic and infrastructure sectors are prime markets where such conditions prevail, making our embedded computers highly suitable.
Our product range includes both GPU-powered computers and non-GPU, fanless models, ideal for applications such as tolling systems and automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) systems. These devices offer high processing power, integrated displays, and a fanless design, making them perfect for demanding environments. Additionally, they feature multiple communication ports, including serial and USB, ensuring seamless connectivity and adaptability. This makes our products a 100% match for traffic, parking, tolling, and broader transportation needs.
Moreover, we offer EN50155-certified railway computers, designed for rolling stock and base station applications, meeting the rigorous standards of the transportation industry. JHC Technology is the go-to partner for reliable computing solutions in the traffic and transportation sectors.
Q: What innovative products are you envisioning in the coming years on your existing product portfolio?
A: We are currently developing compact PCI-based (CPCI) railway computers for the transportation sector, which will meet EN50155 certification standards. These new systems will feature powerful 13th and 14th-generation processors, equipped with advanced graphics capabilities from both Helio and NVIDIA. While NVIDIA is widely recognized for its leading GPU technology, Helio remains less common in the market. To bring the best of both worlds, we are collaborating closely with Intel and Helio to introduce cutting-edge GPU-enabled computers designed to meet the evolving needs of the transportation industry.
Q: What is your current market size in India, and how do you envision its growth over the next 5 to 10 years?
A: Over the next 5 to 10 years, transportation and infrastructure will dominate the landscape. Even in the past 4 to 5 years, the central and state governments in India have heavily prioritized infrastructure development. When we talk about infrastructure, transportation emerges as the key sector.
In the coming decade, the growth of emerging cities across India will place a sharp focus on transportation infrastructure, making it a critical market. As a result, infrastructure presents vast opportunities for automation and technological advancements, poised to shape the future of urban development in India.
Q: Are you exporting these products to international markets as well?
A: We are a leading manufacturing company and we maintain offices in six countries. As a global partner to numerous system integrators, we provide industrial computers to clients worldwide. Our reach extends to major markets in Russia, Spain, Italy, Japan, Dubai, and Vietnam, where we hold a significant stake in the transportation sector. This international presence reinforces our position as a trusted supplier in the global industrial computing landscape.
