In an exclusive conversation with The Interview World, Prerna Sinha, the visionary Founder of Yuna Exports Pvt. Ltd., delves into the details of her latest venture—ready-to-cook millet products offered in various convenient formats. She shares insights into new products under development, discusses the positive market response, and highlights the company’s strategies for expanding its export activities. Here are the key highlights from her inspiring conversation.
Q: What types of millet-based products have you introduced to the market, and what unique qualities do they offer?
A: We recently introduced a line of packaged millets under the Mother Made brand, distributed by Yuna Exports. This new range includes carefully crafted millet varieties, specially developed for individuals with gluten sensitivities. Each product is gluten-free and sugar-free, catering to the dietary needs of diabetic consumers. With convenience in mind, all offerings are ready-to-cook, combining health benefits with ease of preparation—ideal for today’s health-conscious, time-sensitive lifestyles.
Q: How many millet-based products have you launched so far?
A: We have carefully crafted six distinct millet-based products to cater to diverse consumer tastes and dietary needs. Our product lineup includes millet noodles, khichdi, chips, idli mix, dosa mix, and millet ladoo. Each millet-based offering combines convenience with nutrition, making it easier for consumers to enjoy healthy, millet-rich meals.
Q: What new products are you planning to introduce to the market?
A: We are launching our new millet chocolate, created especially for children. While sweets are a favorite among kids, most chocolates on the market are packed with unhealthy ingredients. Our millet chocolate, on the other hand, combines the rich, indulgent flavor of chocolate with the wholesome benefits of millet, making it a healthier, nutrient-packed treat for children.
Q: When did you begin commercial production, and how many people are currently employed in your company?
A: In 2023, we launched the production of these products, marking a significant milestone. More than six women are now an integral part of our team. We provide them with essential training, skills, and tools, empowering them to create high-quality products.
Q: What has been the market response to your products so far?
A: We are seeing an exceptional response in the market, which has been truly encouraging. Coming from Bihar, I’ve always known that millet holds a special place in local diets, prized for its health benefits. People there are increasingly using millet in their daily meals due to its nutritional value. Our products stand out in this trend. They are ready-to-cook, offering consumers the convenience of quick, nutritious meals with minimal effort. This feature makes our products especially appealing to those seeking healthy, time-saving options.
Q: Are you currently exporting your products to international markets?
A: Yes, we are currently exporting our products primarily to Dubai, where they have gained significant traction. In addition to this, we also sell our products on Amazon, which has broadened our market presence. As a result, we are receiving excellent feedback and growing demand from customers across various regions.
