A stampede-like situation at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj on Mauni Amavasya left around 30 women injured, prompting Akharas to call off their holy dip. Injured devotees were rushed to hospitals, with critically wounded individuals transferred to Bailey Hospital and Swaroop Rani Medical College.

Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad President Mahant Ravindra Puri announced the cancellation of the Amrit Snan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi directed Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath to ensure immediate relief. Authorities closed pontoon bridges and enhanced security, deploying AI-powered surveillance, drones, and additional police.

With nearly 10 crore pilgrims expected, Indian Railways is running 360 trains to manage the influx. The Maha Kumbh has already seen 15 crore devotees take a holy dip, marking an unparalleled spiritual gathering.
