He also highlights the impressive impact resistance of Duratuf’s bulletproof solutions. Moreover, he sheds light on the immense growth potential within this specialized industry. Here are the key takeaways from his insightful conversation.
Q: Can you provide details about the bulletproof glass you manufacture and explain how it enhances vehicle safety?
A: Duratuf Glass Industries stands as a trusted name in India, renowned for its unwavering focus on safety, particularly in the automotive sector. While the company’s expertise extends to diverse domains such as architecture and home aesthetics, its core strength lies in delivering safety solutions for the automotive industry.
Our commitment to safety resonates across the country. We proudly supply safety glass to government institutions, including ordnance factories and Road Transport Corporations (RTCs) nationwide. From the southern regions to the heart of India and up to the northern states, Duratuf’s presence in the automotive sector is comprehensive and impactful.
Safety glass is not just a product—it’s a critical component of vehicle safety. A bus may be ready to run, but without safety glass, it remains incomplete. Our advanced solutions, including curved and flat safety glasses, further enhance passenger protection and instill confidence in road transport.
When it comes to bulletproof glass, the stakes are even higher. These life-saving products provide unmatched protection, ensuring safety in the most critical situations. Designed to withstand extreme threats, bulletproof glass safeguards lives by preventing harm in potentially fatal scenarios.
Duratuf’s products provide a broad spectrum of applications. We have proudly supplied our high-quality, durable, and certified glass to the Home Ministry, the Defence Ministry, and ordnance factories through rigorous government tenders. Moreover, these accomplishments reflect our professionalism, innovation, and dedication to excellence.
All our manufacturing facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art technology to ensure in-house production meets stringent quality standards. We adhere to IS 2553 Part 2 specifications and maintain certifications from respected government and industry bodies, underscoring our commitment to safety, durability, and quality.
At Duratuf Glass Industries, we take immense pride in being part of a family dedicated to protecting lives and delivering world-class safety solutions.
Q: Given the frequent instances of rail window breakage in India, do you offer a solution to address this issue effectively?
A: We also supply double-glazed glass for railways, which consists of two layers: one inside the window and the other on the outside. This is laminated glass, designed to enhance safety. The laminated layer has the unique property of holding any external breakage intact, preventing the glass from shattering completely. In the event of an impact, such as a stone strike, the glass may crack, but it will not penetrate or pose a danger. This feature also aligns with safety standards, ensuring no harm comes to passengers. Our commitment is to deliver both quality and safety in every product.
Q: What level of impact or force can your bulletproof glass withstand?
A: Our safety glass is designed to withstand up to 8 bars of pressure. The key factor is ensuring that the glass is securely fixed within its bedding. Any issues at the bedding’s edge could potentially damage the glass, but otherwise, it remains resistant to harm.
Regarding bulletproof glass, the pressure exerted by a bullet remains consistent from the moment of impact to its endpoint, meaning the glass cannot resist the full force throughout. However, we focus on calculating the bullet’s initial velocity and impact speed to optimize the glass’s performance. This allows us to design a glass that provides maximum protection against these forces.
Q: What growth opportunities do you envision for the bulletproof glass industry?
A: The growth potential for bulletproof glass is immense. As threat perceptions continue to rise, the demand for bulletproof glass is increasing rapidly. High-profile individuals in both government and private sectors are prioritizing their safety, seeking protection from criminal threats. Public concern for personal security is fueling a significant market opportunity for bulletproof glass, especially for vehicles and buildings. In addition, law enforcement and defense sectors also have an escalating need for this technology. The expanding need for enhanced protection also presents a robust market for bulletproof glass solutions.
