The Interview World

Panlys is a pioneering technology company specializing in IP creation and commercialization. It develops sustainable innovations that elevate modern living without jeopardizing the future. Among its breakthrough advancements is a cutting-edge titanium dioxide technology with diverse applications, including water purification, air sterilization, battery life extension, and enhanced solar panel efficiency.

The company’s portfolio features a suite of high-impact products designed to improve health and hygiene. Aerolyz, a healthcare-grade air sterilizer, leverages visible light photocatalytic oxidative technology to eliminate up to 100% of airborne pathogens in a single pass. Nanoblitz, a nano-coating solution, delivers long-lasting antimicrobial protection on high-touch surfaces, continuously neutralizing bioburden under indoor lighting. Aqualyzer, a water-based, skin-friendly hand sanitizer, offers extended disinfection without the risks of alcohol-based formulas, making it a safer and more sustainable alternative.

At the heart of Panlys’ innovation lies Low Energy Cascade Oxidation (LECO), an advanced photocatalytic oxidative process activated by visible light. Originally developed by NASA for eliminating volatile organic compounds (VOCs), Panlys has reengineered the catalyst to function efficiently at 410nm, accelerating sterilization and maximizing efficacy. This state-of-the-art technology powers the company’s mission to drive sustainable, high-impact solutions across industries.

In an exclusive conversation with The Interview World at the 32nd Convergence India Expo, Suraj Sanjeev, CEO of Panlys Nanotech, delves into the company’s flagship products, reveals market reception, and outlines upcoming innovations. He also shares his vision for growth, expansion strategies, and the immense opportunities in both Indian and global markets. Here are the key takeaways from his compelling discussion.

Q: Can you provide an in-depth overview of Aerolyz, highlighting its key features and the diverse range of applications it serves across industries?

A: We pioneered Aerolyz Biofilter, the world’s first integrated filtration system designed to capture particles, neutralize pathogens, and eliminate odors—all in a single solution. Currently, our sterilization technology serves pharmaceutical and vaccine manufacturing, hospitals, healthcare facilities, and clean rooms.

Beyond industrial applications, we offer a diverse range of products, extending even to household split AC units. Once integrated, your AC doesn’t just cool—it transforms into an advanced air purification system, efficiently capturing airborne particles, killing pathogens, and removing unpleasant odors.

Q: How has the market responded to your sterilization technology so far, and what key trends or feedback have you observed from customers?

A: We serve over 50 healthcare clients and recently expanded into the food and beverage manufacturing sector. Last month, we secured a significant foothold by supplying to Milma in Kerala, a leading dairy brand comparable to Amul in Gujarat.

Q: What key innovations do you plan to develop over the next 5 to 10 years, and how do you envision their impact on your industry?

A: We aim to eliminate outdated air disinfection technologies like UVC, ozone, and ionizers with a far superior solution—Visible Light Photocatalytic Oxidation (VLPO). Originally, NASA developed an early version of this technology for use in space stations.

Now, we have engineered Gen 3 VLPO technology entirely in India and are taking it global. This next-generation air sterilization system is built to last, ensuring unmatched efficiency and reliability for the next 20 years—eliminating the need for any other solution.

Q: Can you share your growth strategy and vision for the next 5 to 10 years, including key milestones and market expansion plans?

A: Over the next five to ten years, we expect a strategic acquisition by a leading filter manufacturer. Several industry giants are already in the pipeline, and we are actively collaborating with two—though confidentiality prevents us from revealing their names.

In five to six years, we anticipate joining forces with a major international brand, leveraging their global reach to scale our innovations worldwide.

Q: What key market opportunities do you foresee for your products in India and globally, and how do you plan to capitalize on them?

A: Operating in India has instilled in us a frugal, resourceful, and innovative mindset. This approach enabled us to develop a comprehensive, end-to-end solution.

We initially focused on high-end applications like clean rooms and pharmaceutical manufacturing. However, succeeding in India requires scalability and accessibility. To truly make an impact, we had to adapt and innovate for the masses. This shift pushed us to diversify our product range, offering solutions with varying efficacies—from vaccine manufacturing to seamless integration into household split ACs.

Q: How do you ensure that your products remain affordable and accessible to end-users?

A: Our Aerolyz Biofilter for split ACs costs less than a standard AC filter while delivering superior performance. It captures particles, neutralizes pathogens, and eliminates odors with remarkable efficiency. Even if you enjoy a plate of biryani in your room, the lingering aroma disappears instantly.
