AQUATECHEXCEL, a Russia-based company, leads the charge in water body remediation and treatment. As the exclusive international dealer of Botsman® amphibious dredgers, it operates across Russia, India, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), striving to restore water quality on a global scale. Committed to revitalizing water resources, AQUATECHEXCEL understands that clean water fosters a healthier environment and enhances human well-being. This mission grows more urgent as global water demand rises by approximately 1% annually, with projections indicating a 20–30% surge by 2050. Alarmingly, between 2.2 and 3.2 billion people endure water stress for at least one month each year—80% of whom reside in Asia, particularly in northeast China, India, and Pakistan.
To deliver cutting-edge solutions, AQUATECHEXCEL forges strategic partnerships with top engineering firms, technology specialists, and certified surveyors. This collaboration enables the company to offer full-cycle services, seamlessly integrating global best practices with localized expertise. Its excellence has earned industry recognition, including the Certificate of Technology Acceptance and Acknowledgment from the Government of Gujarat in March 2024 and a prestigious certificate from the BRICS Business Incubator after securing a competitive spot in its international acceleration program in August 2023.
AQUATECHEXCEL takes a comprehensive approach to water body rejuvenation. Its services include removing plants, debris, sludge, and tailings; supporting dam, bridge, and infrastructure construction; reinforcing coastlines; desilting stagnant and flowing reservoirs; and clearing drainage channels and pipes. Through these initiatives, the company safeguards vital water resources, maintains ecological balance, and enhances community well-being.
At the 32nd Convergence India Expo, The Interview World team sat down with Petr Kolosov, Director General and Co-founder of AQUATECHEXCEL. In an exclusive conversation, he detailed the company’s cutting-edge water monitoring systems, expansion strategy for India, competitive pricing model, global footprint, and upcoming innovations. Here are the key takeaways from this insightful discussion.
Q: What innovative solutions has AQUATECHEXCEL developed for monitoring river systems, weather patterns, and groundwater? How do these products stand out from market alternatives?
A: We specialize in flood and water monitoring, offering comprehensive solutions from both the ground and space. Our services integrate two distinct products, which can be deployed separately or together, depending on the client’s budget and requirements.
One of our core offerings is the On-the-Field System (OFS)—a real-time monitoring and control system for water levels. It operates year-round, including during the monsoon season. When water levels rise, the system collects data, transmits it to the cloud, and immediately alerts clients and emergency agencies such as Disaster Relief Management. These notifications pinpoint affected locations, enabling authorities to take swift action and mitigate potential disasters.
Beyond monitoring, we provide environmental dredging—a proactive measure to prevent flooding and restore water bodies. This initiative helps clean and rejuvenate critical water resources, such as those in Bukhara. We launched this project two years ago and are currently working in Gujarat, specifically Ahmedabad, on water body restoration.
Our environmental desilting and dredging services enhance water storage capacity without harming the ecosystem. These efforts improve the overall health of water bodies, benefiting both the environment and local communities. If preventive measures are insufficient or clients opt for alternative solutions, we also offer specialized American search-and-rescue vehicles to aid in disaster relief efforts.
With a holistic approach to water management, we empower communities to proactively address flooding, protect resources, and enhance resilience against environmental crises.
Q: Given India’s coastal geography and frequent floods and cyclones, does AQUATECHEXCEL plan to expand beyond Gujarat to provide solutions in vulnerable regions nationwide?
A: We are committed to expanding our operations across India, beginning with the northern regions near the Himalayas. As glaciers melt, these areas experience significant water inflows, increasing the risk of floods and requiring advanced monitoring solutions. Simultaneously, we aim to extend our reach to coastal regions, where marine and aquatic ecosystems face growing environmental challenges. Effective water management in these areas is essential for disaster prevention, ecosystem preservation, and sustainable development, ensuring long-term resilience for both communities and natural habitats.
Q: What pricing strategy does AQUATECHEXCEL follow in India to offer affordable yet feature-rich solutions, ensuring accessibility for Indian companies while maintaining high-quality standards?
A: The monitoring system is exceptionally robust, cost-effective, and highly accessible for small governments and municipalities. It enables the creation of an integrated network with a streamlined yet comprehensive solution. Designed for seamless implementation, it delivers efficiency without excessive costs.
When it comes to cleaning and dredging, our solution outperforms traditional cleanup methods in both compatibility and effectiveness. The cost advantage becomes even more evident when measured per cubic meter of extracted material.
Q: In which countries has your company implemented solutions globally, and could you share some insights on your international presence and impact?
A: The monitoring system has been successfully deployed across oceans worldwide, spanning from the west to the east and back. It has earned widespread recognition for its reliability and efficiency in tracking environmental changes.
As for our environmental dredging units, we shipped them to European and CIS countries before the disruptions of 2022. These units have proven to be both cost-effective and highly adaptable, making them a practical solution for global environmental management and marine restoration efforts.
Q: What are AQUATECHEXCEL’s plans for future innovations over the next 5–10 years? Are you developing sector-specific solutions to enhance your current offerings?
A: Technology advances through relentless research and development, always striving for greater reliability, efficiency, and effectiveness. We remain committed to refining and enhancing our innovations to meet evolving global challenges.
Our monitoring system undergoes continuous improvement to achieve even higher accuracy, particularly in tracking water levels and detecting contamination. We aim to expand its functionality beyond simple level monitoring to include key water quality parameters, enabling more comprehensive environmental assessments. This expansion is crucial for addressing pressing contamination issues and ensuring better water management solutions.
In the field of dredging, we are actively optimizing performance to maximize extraction capacity while minimizing fuel consumption. Our focus is on making the system more efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally sustainable for long-term global applications.
