In an exclusive conversation with The Interview World at Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026, Dr. Samarendra Parida, Director – Strategy and Business, Epsum Labs, shared insights into the company’s technology strategy and growth roadmap. He explained how Epsum Labs, in collaboration with Nexivora, harnesses AI and IoT to design and deploy innovative solutions across diverse industry verticals. He also highlighted the company’s efforts to manufacture hardware and other critical components indigenously, discussed its growing focus on international markets and exports, and outlined the next generation of innovations and technologies it is developing.

Q: Could you elaborate on how Epsum Labs, in collaboration with Nexivora, leverages AI and IoT technologies to develop and implement innovative solutions across diverse industry verticals?
A: At Epsum Labs, we have partnered with Nexivora, Kolkata, which brings more than 200 years of collective industry experience. We consider Nexivora an ideal strategic partner because of its deep domain expertise and proven capabilities. Together, we offer end-to-end, 360-degree solutions as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Our portfolio spans proprietary hardware and integrated software, including advanced analytics and AI-enabled platforms. These solutions help industries optimize operations, improve productivity, enhance efficiency, and ultimately deliver higher returns on investment (RoI).
Q: Does Epsum Labs manufacture its hardware and other components indigenously, or source them from external suppliers?
A: We manufacture these products entirely in India, at our facility in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Therefore, they are genuinely 100% Made in India and reflect the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Q: Which industry verticals are currently your primary focus?
A: Our solutions serve a broad spectrum of industries, including manufacturing, water management, steel, power, and healthcare. In fact, organizations across virtually every industrial and operational sector can leverage our software to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, improve productivity, and drive measurable business outcomes.
Q: Are you currently exporting these products to international markets, and if so, which regions or countries are you targeting?
A: Yes, we have already started exporting our products to the Gulf region. Building on this momentum, we are actively exploring additional international markets. We expect our export footprint to expand further in the near future.
Q: What new innovations and technologies is Epsum Labs developing to anticipate and address emerging challenges and future industry needs?
A: Our digital twin platform, EpsumThings, is an AI-enabled IoT platform designed to transform industrial operations. It captures real-time data from manufacturing units and converts that data into actionable insights through intuitive analytical dashboards. In addition, the platform supports predictive and preventive maintenance, enabling industries to minimize downtime, optimize asset performance, improve operational efficiency, and enhance return on investment (RoI).
Importantly, India has traditionally relied on overseas companies for similar advanced industrial platforms. EpsumThings seeks to change that equation by offering an indigenous alternative developed in India. We believe it is among the first platforms of its kind developed domestically, strengthening India’s capabilities in industrial digitalization and advancing the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Q: What is your long-term vision for Epsum Labs over the next five to ten years, and what key milestones do you aim to achieve during this period?
A: Today, several foreign companies dominate the industrial automation market, creating significant dependence on non-Indian technology providers. We believe India has the capability to build world-class industrial automation solutions domestically. That is precisely what we are doing at Epsum Labs. We are developing indigenous technologies that offer greater cost efficiency while providing responsive, 24×7 support. This combination of localized innovation, competitive pricing, and continuous customer support gives Indian industries a stronger and more sustainable alternative to conventional foreign solutions.
