In an exclusive interaction with The Interview World at the 33rd Convergence India Expo, Dinesh Lavania, Vice President – Sales, Alpha Bridge Technologies Pvt. Ltd. outlines the company’s indigenously developed networking products and clearly articulates their differentiated value propositions. Furthermore, he evaluates the impact of the Make in India initiative in accelerating domestic innovation. He also highlights ongoing product development efforts and presents strong evidence of growing market traction across India. The following are the key takeaways from this insightful conversation.
Q: Can you detail the advanced networking products developed by Alpha Bridge Technologies and explain the key differentiators that set them apart from competing products?
A: We actively market a comprehensive portfolio of networking hardware. Specifically, we offer 2G switches as well as advanced Layer 2 (L2) and Layer 3 (L3) switches; importantly, we deliver fully capable L3 systems both with and without Multiprotocol Label Switching. In parallel, we supply Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) modules that scale seamlessly from 1G to 1,400G, thereby addressing a wide spectrum of bandwidth requirements.
Our customer base spans Internet Service Providers, Internet Leased Line (ILL) operators, and Cable Operators, while we also serve enterprise clients with equal focus. Moreover, our switch portfolio ranges from compact 4-port configurations to high-density 48-port systems. We complement this breadth with Power over Ethernet (PoE) and non-PoE variants; additionally, we offer managed switches as well as ruggedized industrial-grade solutions.
Crucially, we engineer these products for resilience and consistent performance. As a result, we maintain an exceptionally low failure rate well below 0.1%. Therefore, we continue to supply high-reliability switching solutions at scale, meeting stringent operational demands across diverse network environments.
Q: Are your networking products, such as switches, designed and manufactured indigenously in India?
A: We design and manufacture all these products in India; consequently, we qualify under the Class I local content category with more than 60% indigenous value addition. Moreover, we adhere strictly to national regulatory standards. Each product carries certification from MTCTE; in addition, it meets Telecommunication Testing Centre (TTP) requirements. Therefore, every solution we deliver is fully tested, certified, and compliant with India’s telecom quality and safety benchmarks.
Q: How do you assess the impact of the Government of India’s Make in India initiatives on fostering indigenous product development?
A: The government has introduced a series of targeted programs and initiatives to strengthen domestic manufacturing; consequently, we have accelerated our market expansion. These measures enable us to design, develop, and manufacture entirely within India. Moreover, they provide a structured and supportive ecosystem, spanning policy, infrastructure, and incentives, that allows us to execute efficiently. As a result, we continue to scale operations while reinforcing indigenous innovation and production capabilities.
Q: What is your product development roadmap for the next five years?
A: We are actively developing our router portfolio; furthermore, we are advancing it toward near-term commercialization. Subsequently, we will expand into GPON solutions, thereby broadening our access network capabilities and strengthening our end-to-end offerings.
Q: How would you evaluate the market traction of your products in India?
A: The market is highly receptive and increasingly dynamic; consequently, we continue to expand our customer base. We consistently onboard new clients, while also securing high-value engagements across segments. Notably, we maintain a strong presence in the public sector and serve several large government organizations. In addition, we are registered on the Government e-Marketplace; therefore, we actively supply our solutions through this platform to major government buyers across India.
