In an exclusive conversation with The Interview World at FIIT Forward 2025, hosted by FITT and IIT Delhi, Shivang Mehta, VP – Sales & Marketing at Vecmocon Technologies, shared insights into the company’s smart mobility solutions. He highlighted innovations in asset health and security, and outlined forthcoming advancements that will expand upon the company’s current mobility offerings. Q: Could you elaborate on the technology solutions your company is providing for the smart mobility ecosystem?

A: Vecmocon Technologies is a leader in electric mobility intelligence. We deliver full-stack solutions across the compute components and embedded ecosystem that power electric vehicles.

Our innovations include advanced Battery Management Systems, telematics units, branded as Vehicle Intelligence Modules (VIMs), and smart EV chargers. Beyond hardware, we provide robust software solutions across the application and platform layers. Through the platform layer, we serve fleet operators, mobility companies, battery OEMs, and vehicle OEMs, enabling seamless integration and intelligent operations.

Additionally, we extend our services to financial institutions that finance electric vehicles, equipping them with critical insights for informed decision-making. Supported by a comprehensive service infrastructure, we also deliver preventive and predictive maintenance, ensuring the reliability and longevity of the EV ecosystem.

Q: What level of accuracy do your predictive maintenance solutions achieve?

A: Our compute components operate using CAN (Controller Area Network) communication. This enables seamless access to all essential data, which can then be transmitted to the cloud or utilized for specific use cases.

For example, consider our EV chargers. These chargers are designed using BFC LLC topology, delivering an impressive 92% charging efficiency. By combining advanced communication with high-performance hardware, our solutions ensure both intelligent operation and optimal energy utilization.

Q: Can you shed light on the range of asset health and security solutions you provide and how they enhance the smart mobility ecosystem?

A: Our Battery Management System delivers comprehensive insights into the battery: its health, thermal performance, and operational behaviour. It even monitors rider behaviour and how it impacts battery longevity. This data flows seamlessly through our Vehicle Intelligence Module to the cloud, enabling advanced analytics and actionable insights.

Beyond monitoring, we enhance asset security through multiple functionalities, including geo-fencing and real-time tracking. These features ensure that each vehicle remains safe, secure, and optimally maintained at all times.

Q: Where do you envision Vecmocon in the next five to ten years, particularly in terms of new innovations building on your existing platform?

A: Currently, we focus on the two-wheeler and three-wheeler segments. Simultaneously, we are developing solutions for other vehicle categories, including high-voltage systems, buses, trucks, and passenger vehicles. Our high-voltage solutions are in active development, alongside safety-critical components designed for next-generation use cases.

In parallel, we are building a cybersecurity-resilient ecosystem. On the platform and compute component front, we are creating robust security solutions that will address emerging challenges in the EV landscape. These innovations will become increasingly visible as they roll out in the near future.
