The US Supreme Court has rejected an emergency application by 26/11 Mumbai attacks accused Tahawwur Rana, opposing his extradition to India. Rana, a Canadian national of Pakistani origin, claimed he would face torture in India due to his background. His plea cited severe medical conditions, arguing extradition would be a “de facto death sentence.” The decision follows a meeting between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump, who supported Rana’s extradition. Rana, an alleged associate of David Headley, faces charges in India over the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks that killed 166 people.
