In an exclusive conversation with The Interview World, Vishal Lunia, Co-founder of PlayAll, sheds light on the company’s offerings for schools. He highlights how the integration of state-of-the-art sports infrastructure enhances student development, while emphasizing the sustainability of these infrastructures from both a business and environmental perspective. Here are the key takeaways from the discussion.
Q: Can you elaborate on PlayAll’s offerings for schools? How are they helping to enhance sports infrastructure and raise the standards?
A: PlayAll specializes in sports infrastructure development and management, with a focus on partnering with schools. We design and build world-class facilities that students use during school hours, enhancing their athletic development and overall experience.
Beyond school hours, we maximize the potential of these facilities by opening them to the surrounding community. This approach not only generates additional revenue but also promotes the health and wellness of local residents by providing access to high-quality infrastructure. In essence, we are driving both student development and community well-being through our innovative sports infrastructure solutions.
Q: How many infrastructures have you developed for schools, and what impact have they had on improving physical education facilities?
A: We currently operate 18 venues across seven cities and are rapidly expanding. With five new venues in the pipeline, our operations will soon span nine cities, including Chennai, Coimbatore, Jaipur, Raipur, Delhi, Noida, Faridabad, and Gurgaon.
In addition to our partnerships with schools, we also manage facilities on private land and the rooftops of malls, broadening our reach and enhancing accessibility. This strategic expansion allows us to serve a diverse range of communities while delivering top-tier infrastructure in key locations.
Q: How do you believe these facilities are empowering students to take a greater interest in sports and encouraging wider participation?
A: Beyond infrastructure development, we invest in nurturing talent by providing professional coaching to over 1,000 students through our academy. Our efforts have already produced more than 10 players currently representing India at national and international levels. We also support promising young athletes by offering scholarships to school students who show exceptional performance, ensuring financial barriers don’t hinder their growth. This initiative not only uplifts individual talent but also strengthens India’s presence in global sports. Our vision is to play a pivotal role in helping the country secure more medals in prestigious international competitions.
Q: How sustainable is your business model, both economically and environmentally?
A: Our infrastructure puts a strong emphasis on environmental sustainability, utilizing natural turfs and lake relics that contribute to a low carbon footprint. While this model is capital-intensive, we receive the desired support due to the increasing sports participation in India. Indeed, sports participation is growing at an impressive rate. This surge ensures the sustainability of our operations, as all our venues are currently profitable. We leverage this positive momentum and plan to double our size within the next year. This expansion will not only enhance our market presence but also further our mission of promoting sports and sustainability in India.
