The portfolios of the new Delhi government were announced following a cabinet meeting. Chief Minister and her six cabinet colleagues have divided the ministries, with Rekha Gupta and Parvesh Verma shouldering major responsibilities.
Mr. Verma, son of former CM Saheb Singh Verma, has been assigned Water, Irrigation, and Flood Control, including the Yamuna cleanup. Rekha Gupta will oversee at least 10 portfolios, including the crucial Finance Ministry. Ashish Sood, a former BJP Delhi vice-president, has been given Home, Education, and Power.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa will manage Food and Supplies, Forest and Environment, and Industries. Kapil Mishra, once an AAP minister, now in BJP, handles Law, Labour, Tourism, and more. Ravinder Singh is tasked with Social Welfare and SC/ST Welfare. The Chief Minister retains key portfolios, including Revenue, Vigilance, and Women and Child Development.
