At least 694 people were killed and 1,670 injured after six powerful earthquakes, the strongest at 7.7 magnitude, struck central Myanmar near Sagaing on Friday afternoon. Casualties include victims from a collapsed hospital in Naypyidaw, a mosque in Mandalay, and a university fire. Myanmar junta chief Min Aung Hlaing declared an emergency, seeking global aid. Tremors were felt in Thailand, India, Bangladesh, Vietnam, and China’s Yunnan province. Thailand confirmed eight deaths, while India and European nations offered assistance. Prime Minister Modi assured support, stating India is on standby for relief efforts.
