With rising aspirations, there is a growing demand for improvement in all sectors, and the pharmaceutical industry, in particular, stands out as a safe and resilient space. Regardless of economic conditions, the need for medicines remains constant, making this sector an attractive area for investment and innovation.

At Mankind Pharma, we are leading the charge in pharmaceutical innovation, focusing on making affordable medicines accessible to all. Our domestic portfolio spans a wide array of formulations across both acute and chronic therapeutic areas, including anti-infectives, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, anti-diabetic, neuro/CNS, vitamins, minerals, and respiratory care.

In our consumer healthcare segment, we have successfully built a portfolio of differentiated brands across several key categories, including condoms, pregnancy detection kits, oral contraceptives, antacid powders, vitamin and mineral supplements, and anti-acne treatments. Q: What strategies is Mankind Pharma employing to expand its global presence, and which regions or markets are they targeting for growth?

A: We are primarily a domestically focused company, with exports accounting for only 10% of our business. When we do export, we ensure that the pharmaceutical products we offer provide distinct value and a competitive edge. We deliver specialized, differentiated products and do not believe in exporting standard or generic offerings.

A: In Agritech, we focus on tackling challenges that are complex, innovative, and technically demanding. Q: What are the key drivers of growth in the Indian domestic pharmaceutical market, and how is the medicine sector evolving in response to current trends?

A: Overall, the domestic market is performing exceptionally well. However, when it comes to critical illness medications, we faced significant challenges in the past. Access to these essential medicines was low, and affordability was a major concern. As the country experiences prosperity and rising income levels, health has emerged as a core priority. This focus has intensified, especially following the COVID-19 pandemic, which highlighted the importance of accessible healthcare.
