Molecular Products, a subsidiary of Filtration Group, stands at the forefront of global air purification technology. The company develops cutting-edge anesthesia solutions to protect individuals, processes, and environments. Specializing in breathable gas treatment, it delivers high-performance, consumable air purification media and products for life- and mission-critical applications. Its diverse portfolio serves key sectors, including healthcare, defense, green energy, and industrial technology.
The company’s product lineup includes carbon dioxide absorbers, solid oxygen systems, impregnated activated carbons, and specialized catalysts and zeolites. These solutions play a vital role in critical applications—removing carbon dioxide during anesthesia, supplying emergency oxygen in critical care, and maintaining breathable atmospheres in enclosed environments such as submarines and underground mining sites.
At Medical Fair India 2025, Emma Knight, Global Marketing Manager at Molecular Products Ltd., shared exclusive insights with The Interview World. She discussed the company’s anesthesia solutions used in surgical procedures, explored market opportunities in India, and highlighted the unique advantages of its products. She also offered a glimpse into groundbreaking innovations shaping the future of healthcare.
Here are the key takeaways from her insightful discussion.
Q: Could you elaborate on the range of anesthesia products your company manufactures, the key innovations you have introduced, and how your products stand out in the market compared to competitors?
A: We manufacture Sodalime, a high-performance CO₂ absorbent widely used in anesthesia. During surgery, when a patient is under anesthesia, our product plays a crucial role in the anesthesia circuit. It effectively removes exhaled carbon dioxide, preventing its accumulation and ensuring that only purified anesthetic gases return to the patient. This process maintains a safe and controlled breathing environment throughout the procedure.
We produce Sodalime in both the UK and the US and have an established presence in India. However, we are here to further expand our portfolio, strengthen partnerships, and explore new opportunities in this rapidly growing healthcare market.
Q: How do you perceive India as a market for your products, and what opportunities and challenges do you see in this landscape?
A: India offers a significant market for our products, as every surgical procedure relies on Sodalime. We currently supply private-labeled solutions to several anesthesia machine manufacturers, reinforcing our industry presence. However, this event opens new doors, allowing us to directly engage with potential customers and expand our reach. It provides a unique opportunity to showcase our expertise, strengthen brand visibility, and drive sales under our own label, rather than operating solely through private-label partnerships.
Q: Do you export your products? If so, which countries are your key markets?
A: We export to over 90 countries worldwide, including India, where we already have an established presence. As a leading chemical technologies company, we manufacture a diverse range of products. This particular solution, however, is tailored specifically for the medical market.
Q: How do your products stand out from competitors in the market, and what key factors set them apart?
A: Our product stands apart for its superior quality. While local manufacturers produce similar solutions, their products often generate excessive dust and chalkiness. When exposed to moisture from a patient’s breath inside an anesthesia machine, these low-quality alternatives harden like cement, eventually damaging the equipment. In contrast, our ultra-low-dust formulation prevents contamination, ensuring the machine and breathing circuit remain unaffected. This exceptional quality and performance give us a distinct competitive edge.
Q: How do you envision the technological advancements in the molecular filtration sector over the next 5 to 10 years?
A: Innovation drives every industry, and we are no exception. As new anesthesia machines enter the market, we continuously develop compatible solutions to stay ahead. Beyond anesthesia, we actively innovate across other markets, addressing global challenges where pure air is essential. Our mission is simple—solve real-world problems with cutting-edge solutions.
