Pakistani troops opened unprovoked fire at Indian posts along the Line of Control (LoC) on the night of April 25–26, marking the second such incident in two days. The Indian Army confirmed firing from multiple Pakistani posts, stating that Indian troops responded appropriately. No casualties were reported. The escalation follows the brutal killing of 26 civilians by Pakistan-linked terrorists in Pahalgam. India has since suspended the Indus Water Treaty and withdrawn diplomatic staff. Pakistan responded by halting all bilateral agreements, including the Simla Accord. The Wagah Border stands closed as both nations brace for further fallout.
