At least 25 people have died in Ukraine following a fresh wave of Russian strikes, as the war shows no signs of abating. The deadliest attack hit Donetsk Region, where 11 people were killed and 40 injured, including six children, officials said. Strikes also targeted Kharkiv and Odesa, damaging homes and infrastructure.
The escalation comes as the U.S. pauses military aid and intelligence-sharing with Kyiv after a tense Oval Office meeting between Presidents Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky. Following the attacks, Polish PM Donald Tusk condemned “appeasement of barbarians.”
Russia also launched a second strike targeting rescuers in Donetsk, Zelensky said. Meanwhile, Ukrainian drones hit Russian targets, with Moscow reporting 31 interceptions overnight.
As concerns grow over U.S. support, EU leaders met in Brussels to reinforce defence spending and aid for Ukraine. Trump’s envoy is set for ceasefire talks in Saudi Arabia next week.
