US President Donald Trump on Friday criticized India for imposing “massive tariffs,” claiming it is difficult to sell goods in the country. Speaking at the White House, the 78-year-old Republican said India has now agreed to reduce tariffs.
“India charges us massive tariffs. You can’t even sell anything in India… They have agreed to cut them down now,” Trump said.
Highlighting trade imbalances, he reiterated that countries like India, China, and the EU impose higher tariffs on the US. Trump has pledged “reciprocal tariffs” by April 2, emphasizing an “eye for an eye” trade approach.
